I put my entire life into cs and try so fucking hard to get better. I come out and everyone makes fun of me every game, my ex teammates block me and call me slurs, I can't play without random people throwing and making fun of me. I play impact and I'm the enemy and "I should be ashamed and kill myself" for it. It doesn't matter what I do the problem is I'm ugly and trans. Like genuinely what do people want me to do? Maybe if "mixed teams" wouldn't call me a "f*ggot" when I ask to play with them things would be different.
Good. The men competing in this female league should feel deeply ashamed for taking opportunities away from the women striving to compete in it.
Considering the backlash one gets when commenting on this topic, it isn't surprising to see no pushback from the women in the league.

I should be a happy but instead I'm in my hotel room crying. I poured my heart and soul into this game and have tried so hard to get better and yet all I get told is to kill myself. Imagine non stop trying to build a team and playing all day and you finally feel improvement just to be hated on everything and have everyone you looked up to hate you and treat you like youre evil. I'm tired and I'm trying my best, I've had a horrible life and cs has been one of the only things I've enjoyed. I truly love this game and the few friends I've made through it. But the community has been the most horrible thing I've ever experienced. Part of me wishes I never started playing and never met the people I did. Im a real person trying to do what i enjoy and this shit does affect me. I'm so tired of seeing all the hate everyday, I just want to be left alone and treated like a human being doing what I love but I guess that will never happen.

The amount of transphobic people saying weird stuff under this post is insane. Just to clear things up because people keep claiming I "transitioned to play impact"
Impact didn't exist till I was 18, I came out to my family when i was 15 and most people in cs i talked to already knew i was trans.
I also made FPLC at 15 and FPL at 17 way before ESL impact even existed. I've also made advanced playoffs and ECL completely outside of impact. I didn't start playing or start my "career" by playing impact I was already somewhat known in NA and had been playing for years prior.
Heartbreaking and disappointing. I've played in this league since it started, It's been so incredible and a huge part of my life. I can't help but hope @valvesoftware steps in somehow to help the women's scene 💔

3 years ago i started using the name empathy. The reason I switched was because I wanted to send a message that you never really know what other people go through, people can care just as much about the game while still respecting each other. I have both seen and experienced so much hate and transphobia while just playing a game. I think it's important that everyone remembers that the people you play against are real people in and outside the game.

I never minded being called Ridge, it's not an insult or my dead name. When I was a kid I had a Rhodesian Ridgeback and he was a great dog and friend. Sadly when he got older he developed bone cancer and died. That's where the names Ridge and RidgeWolf came from. I named my accounts that as like a 10 year old as a homage to my childhood pet who had just passed. calling me Ridge to try to insult me or dead name me is pretty stupid and weird.

Genuinely love shimmer so much. It's extremely sad that it's come to this after building this team for the past year and making the last 2 impact finals and winning all but 2 cash cups we played together I'm gonna have to leave. Despite our incredible record we aren't making any money and I just don't think there will be another large org entering the NA scene soon especially since ESL is removing a slot from NA 😭 the option for me to survive while making no income just isn't possible. And with the changes to league and stuff I'm deciding to leave and look for a signed team. Id prefer not to igl and would prefer something in EU but im open to anything 🫡 i was the #1 rated player in impact for the entire year so far and for the online portion of season 4. If any org would be interested in shimmer we are an incredible team with so much potential, just unlucky circumstances for lan and the end of the season. I wish the best for everyone on shimmer ❤️

Honestly a terrible change for the league, Ive introduced so many newer players to impact and I see new players every week getting introduced to the community. Not only will this update hurt new players and old players but it hurts oce and asia even more than it is now. With no cashcups to play new teams no longer get to play against/with established teams. Think about it 24x a year there are female games on twitch/hltv getting hundreds of views where smaller teams from every region can compete for money. now theirs no cashcups and the only experience for smaller teams in impact is a twice a year qualifier. The only people this change helps are ESL and the already established teams. Even for good teams in the league this change just offers them less games and less people invested in their team. I truly believed in this league and believed it would bring more opportunity in the scene but each season there's less and less.
Today we are excited to reveal the details about #ESLImpact in 2025!
This will include details on the ESL Impact Team Incentives Program, changes to the invitation process, slot distribution, event dates and more!

Phoebe is one of the best teammates I've ever had. She's a super hard worker and an extremely fast learner but above all else she's a good friend and has been genuinely so fun and enjoyable to be around from the start. I get like 210-250 fps on other maps but on the new cache I get like 165 fps with little stutters to like 130 fps and it never passes 200. It really wasn't super bad though and it didnt bother me too much. I actually really love playing the map :)

ESL is removing cashcups in Europe, North America, South America, South Africa, Oceania, and Asia. It's not just in NA it removes opportunity from every region, most of which already don't have any league or female-only events to play. Cashcups give lower level teams/players the opportunity to practice and play against better teams in the same community more frequently, as well as it gives more games for fans and of Impact to watch and support. Additionally, in the last 2 cashcups NA is the only region to have repeat winners. Although it's true Shimmer has won the majority of cashcups in NA saying cashcups should be cancelled because of that makes no sense.
