I randomly picked an auto from my workplace, and the driver was a really old man. He dropped me off, and I was waiting to give him the change because he didn’t have digital payment. Then, two guys got into his auto and asked him to drop them somewhere. He refused because he wanted to go home, and they started arguing with him. A few days ago, I ordered a shawarma from Swiggy. My order got delayed quite a bit. I didn’t raise a complaint online or in the app, just made one call around 10 p.m. to the delivery partner. He said, “Ma’am, there’s been an issue with another order, but I’ll deliver yours as soon as possible.” I told him I could cancel, but he said, “No ma’am, please don’t do that.” So I said okay.
He arrived around 10:40 p.m. almost 2 hours after I ordered. I didn’t say anything to him. It was too late for me to eat since I had already eaten and wasn’t hungry, so I offered it to him instead. He apologized for the delay, and I told him it’s okay, things happen. He mentioned he was vegetarian, so I went downstairs and gave the shawarma to the security guard.
Moral of the story: Mistakes and delays happen. It’s a business, after all, and we don’t need to be rude or mean to them.
I ordered at 8:46PM and got delivered at 10:43PM.
