contexts are multidimensional. they can involve color, size, or the intersection of both. you can clearly see what's important to you in the moment, just as you can see what's substantial yet has been abandoned for a while. the difference from tags is that these contexts evolve over time by changing name to meet your today perception of things.

i constantly experience software fatigue despite my appreciation for @linear, @NotionHQ, @obsdmd and others. however, i struggle to use these tools effectively. let me explain. below, you can find some examples of what i mean by software fatigue. i understand that this issue is not due to me or the software. these tools are designed for individuals who can navigate, work, and analyze information in a specific manner, which does not align with my abilities. but why is that? our brains wired differently. we all have different abilities when it comes to deal with information. it’s called neurodiversity. some of us great in visual reasoning, some of us can connect dots on light speed. but some of us are getting overwhelmed by millions of small details such as emojis, borders, icons, fonts, colors etc. some may consider it mere visual noise, but to me, it represents visual chaos. i find myself scanning the page in pursuit of an island of calmness, often without success. this quest triggers anxiety. fortunately, i do not rely on these tools daily, and i am not forced to use them. however, i am aware that many people out there struggle with it daily. i see an opportunity for improvement in creating something that soothes your mind each time you use the tool. and something tells me that as a result everyone will be happy with such a tool.

i think i'm ready to finally share full vision behind @usepoiapp. what's poi about? well, it is a space for friends, family, and communities you care about. this space is designed in a way that people can feel safe and be open to create memories together. poi is not just another group chat. messaging is a solution that allows people to create, archive, and store conversations, pictures, videos, voice notes, and spatial experiences in a most convenient way so far. instead of backing up or organizing pictures you made somewhere and share them after in another app – poi is just one place to make it happen. why? within the next 20 years, the average me is going to own more than 2,500,000 personal artifacts that I think is impossible to access nor organize properly. the existing storage system should be rethought. no more timelines, tree-structured data access. there should be a different approach, and I bet on map experience. in multiple ways: first, it is nonlinear storage and has a sentimental attachment, which makes a huge difference in storing data. also, taking zooming UX you can actually bring it into access to the data from super highlight overview for the past years you can zoom in to a particular date. just literally zooming. and no, i'm not talking about zooming in/out in Apple Photos, i'm talking about zooming through the stories and narrative. and that is where AI can bring the value. transcribing, contextualizing, connecting things together to create a graph from your artifacts for fast and easy access in one place. think about features like: contextual reminders, automatic summaries, content recommendations, sentiment analysis, personalized insights, knowledge expansion, customized search, language assistance, smart attachments, time capsule, collaborative planning, trend analysis, and much much more. i’m not sure that the existing concept will survive over time, but what I’m quite sure is that the problem will. and I want to try to bring a solution to this problem, to step into this market of reinventing how we store our memories and how we access them. and if you are interested in building this together, please reach out via DMs, or comment under this tweet. come build @usepoiapp together.

there are likely three types of entrepreneurs: 1. those who see an opportunity and jump into business, regardless of the area. 2. those who identify a problem and strive to solve it. 3. those who build something deeply related to them, essentially solving their own problem. i fall into the third category. however, pinpointing the exact pain you are solving can be challenging. it's easy to jump to conclusions and start working in a particular direction without a clear vision, which can be time-consuming. so i decided to talk about it. a lot. i spoke about poi probably with 100+ people, trying to think through speaking and their reactions. it took me 3 months to finally get into meta level of my own problem i always had. here are some learnings i got from that journey: 1. if you can’t articulate what you do clearly and in super short form, you are far from the root of your problem. (i know it is obvious, but CLEARLY means really CLEARLY.) 2. talk a lot, try to invite as many people as possible to listen, try to pitch them and answer their questions, and never ask what they think. it doesn’t matter. they will lie anyway. i’d recommend the book The Mom Test for some guidance on how to ask questions. 3. always question every aha! moment. i know they are exciting, and i personally could spend days designing and thinking about them. after you've played a lot with this, go to p.2 and talk about it. 4. find your customer. again, it is so obvious, yet i was kinda reluctant to this idea. what does it mean, customer, if i do the greatest thing on earth for everyone?! everyone is my customer. but that’s a lie. go to p.1 – there is always your ideal customer. 5. create your mastermind team. those guys who are on the same track as you are. speak with them, establish a safe space to speak about your issues, and listen to their feedback. they are the most valuable people on your journey. 6. this advice probably worked only for me, but i’m going to share it anyway: finding the real problem you’re going to solve is a highly therapeutic experience. you have to be honest and mindful about yourself. even talk with your therapist about it. this journey has brought me to this point, and now it's time for the next chapter – developing the MVP, engaging early users, conducting interviews, and fundraising.

my thoughts on @amoamoamo – as the other "social network for friends" founder: SOCIAL REVOLUTION amo is a game-changer for social media. they just mainstreamed FRIENDS ECONOMY. which i personally can't be happier about it. it is a space where people can hang out forgetting about everything else. it is exhausting yet refreshing experience. Social Media → Social Network 🫶🏼 PERFECT TIMING: EMBODIMENT OF DIGITAL EXPERIENCES we got used to with technology being a normal part of our everyday lives, so for us, digital experiences are just as important as physical ones. i mean, think about it - we're constantly immersed in digital media, social media, gaming, and online communities. that means that value of one digital picture became the same as physical. there is no difference anymore. it is a perfect time to give more meaning to digital artifacts than just another story on IG or TikTok. RESULT social networking landscape that caters to the unique needs and interests of friends, rather than trying to appeal to everyone at once. by offering unique value propositions, people will benefit from a wider range of options and features, leading to a healthier and more vibrant social networking landscape. by offering multiple apps for different needs, people can curate their online experience to their specific interests and preferences. amo isn’t just another social network - it’s a catalyst for a new era of social networking.

i used to be an early user of notion, obsidian, roam research, and dozens of other apps, but i've never succeeded in maintaining my 'digital garden'. for years, i've thought i'm just a lazy person who cannot make a strong-willed decision to build a habit to organize my bookmarks, articles, and all important information i need. i even purchased once a whole course on how to build your second brain with obsidian. unsuccessful. it took me years to realize that i have a mild form of adhd. it doesn't hurt my life quality, but i'm simply unable to organize information the way how existing tools work. after years of research, i've tried to build social maps to save my location history and interactions with friends by saving my memories and conversations in the background, notes on maps, all the time i've been working around this personal issue. and a couple of months ago, i decided that i have to solve my personal struggle. i started talking with people who potentially have adhd symptoms or similar problems. and it turned out there are a lot of people who feel isolated due to existing market offerings. one of the interviewees said, "it feels like all these productivity apps were created by productive people for productive people." i started poi labs where we aim to create experiences: reading, listening, saving, and retrieving information, working or brainstorming with saved data, text/audio/video analyses to map it and recreate a whole augmented human-like memory process for people like me. that is a fascinating journey and i'm happy to invite everyone who shares the same problems with organizing and remembering information they save on the internet.

it's become clear to me that Poi has gained a lot of interest but lacks a clear picture of what it is. TLDR; Poi is a destruction-free OS for neurodivergent people. but i struggle with this definition a lot, so i decided to put it out in public to get your feedback. here's why i struggle: my whole life, i've felt that things shouldn't be the way they were. it shouldn't be so difficult to talk to people or have stupid small talk, which always made me disappointed because i had to lie. school was a nightmare too. on the other hand, i was able to understand things quickly, focus on multiple topics, and be creative enough to build two design studios and a communication agency (i know it sounds weird, but during my agency's time, i created over 400 extremely successful pitches and presentations for so many companies that i can't even remember). i sold my agency. and only after that, i was diagnosed with autism and adhd. it explained everything. i read the book "Untypical" by @commaficionado in tears, saying yes to almost every statement he made. i felt like i wasn't alone, and the way i'd felt all my life was actually normal. it wasn't my fault that the world around me was so difficult. that's how it became clear to me that i had to build something for myself that would let me explore the world through a safe, destruction-free lens—a tool that lets me record my voice notes and transcribe them, a place to save all my articles and read them in a safe, calm environment, a place where i can focus and immerse myself in research. a place to keep all my treasures and work with them. to build such a space, i had to learn about neurodiverse design approaches and how to create a space that makes this possible. i found the way: i turned things around. instead of applying accessibility afterward, i decided to reinvent the whole design approach with accessibility as the foundation. that's Poi. but the problem i struggle with is simple: i refuse to call it a disability. i'm aware of my strengths and struggles, but i still don't think of myself as disabled. many people have an image from movies and media of weird and awkward people, which i'm not. that's why i struggle: i don't want to exclude anyone. i don't want people to think Poi isn't for them. it's actually the opposite. building things with neurodivergent traits in mind benefits everyone. or maybe i'm missing something. who knows? please, if this feels relevant to you, let's talk. ask me questions or give me feedback. i'd be happy to think out loud.

let's talk about context in recordings. i always have a moment when i am deep in conversation and ideas are flowing. so i hit the record, thinking i’ll catch all of it. but later what i get is just this flat stream of words. everything's there but also... not really there. sure, we've got smart ai picking out the key points. but what about those little ideas? those moments when something clicks in your head? when you know "this, this right here matters"? i was thinking - what if you could just tap when that happens? like leaving a little clue saying "hey, future me, pay attention here." or hold it down to add a verbal why.

another take on feeds. especially in upcoming @amoamoamo launch. social networks transformed into social feeds, driven by invisible yet powerful algorithms that dictate what we see and do, eroding our autonomy. and i believe that it wasn’t the promise of the internet. many feel trapped, yearning for something more. it’s time to regain control and forge a new path, one that puts people first.
let's talk about feeds. today we generate an overwhelming amount of information, making it nearly impossible to keep up. platforms like twitter, while popular, often feel like high-speed trains rushing by, leaving us struggling to catch valuable content amidst the chaos. scrolling through the noise demands significant energy. but why? years ago, feeds were manageable; there was an elusive feeling of reaching the end. however, today countless profound thoughts pass us by, dissipating into the algorithms of the feed engine, attempting to predict what you might love next time. this is why i love maps as a medium for thoughts. each point on the map can encapsulate memories, ideas, and experiences. this information, hidden from the world, becomes a private treasure trove. whether it's the location of your first kiss or a schoolyard fight, the map becomes a canvas where life unfolds. you can choose to share these moments with your friends or allow others to follow your journey through the map. is not it fascinating? maps, to me, represent more than just utilitarian tools. they serve as a unique canvas, a reflection of one's life story. unlike feeds, maps empower us to craft our digital footprint, allowing us to design our narrative in a way that feeds never could.

we’re shutting down @untitledmapapp. unfortunately, i have to admit that we’ve tried hard, but shit happens. that was a nice ride. we’ve been working on a proper fog of war and traces for a long time to achieve great performance and accuracy. i’m happy with what we’ve achieved so far. that is why we’ve decided to open-source uma to share technology with a world. each of us is going to pursue our own dreams and ideas. personally, i’m going to continue working on the initial idea we’ve been trying to create but under a different app name, design, and strategy. stay updated.
news: @untitledmapapp is dead, long live uma we had a good run, but due to scarce ressources and a cofounder conflict, we will go our separate ways. i’m open sourcing the codebase i was working on for a year. don’t be sad because it’s over, be glad it happened!

this launch is much more exciting than humane to me. can't wait to see it live.
Where did our friends go?? The bike rides. The sleepovers. Your first cigarette. Gossiping about your latest crush. Being consoled when they break your heart. Discovering a new city. Re-discovering your own (at 2AM). The hungover brunches. The tears. The laughs. The love. So many of the moments that shaped us were shared with friends. And then those moments started happening online. Posting photos from last night’s party. Tagging your latest situationship. Poking your roommate (whatever that means??). It was exciting and well intentioned, but something got lost along the way. The platforms that were built to bring friends closer together became places we go to scroll through videos… of strangers. We’re entertained, but where did our friends go? We started amo because we believe that friendship still deserves a place online. We’re a group of friends who have spent our lives building stuff for friends. And now, we’re getting ready to share something new for you and your crew. We call it amo. And to us, amo is more than a company. It’s a friend affair, « une affaire d’amitié ». Something we’re making for you, but for us too. Our first idea is almost here. We hope you love it as much as we love making it. Welcome to amo.

memories that fade away the question that has recently bothered me is, how do you preserve your digital memories? of course, cloud storage, backups, etc. those are files, pictures and videos, but what about conversations, voice notes, ideas, thoughts, and meaningful connections? in the moment, it may not seem important, but what will happen in 20 years? will i be happy to access those memories, and how would i be happy to access them? what if the cloud were to say, 'sorry, we have to shut down'? considering the trajectory of digital artifacts creation in 20 years, every person would likely own somewhere close to 3-5TB of these important memories to be saved. are there any existing solutions?

another huge release today, that i think move the social network market further is @Roomsxyz by @ThingsByThings INTERCONNECTED ATOMIC GROUPS instead of feeding your content to an algo so later it might navigate you through the content – i don't think it's a great approach anymore. well, partly. yes, some social networks are great and they let us discover new professional connections, grow our businesses, tell our stories via providing this universal access, but followers ≠ friends. and now i believe this time is came. create your very own private space on internet for genuine connections to be forged is no longer niche-ish. FRIENDSHIP WITH CARE another thing i'd like to mention is onboarding. both @Roomsxyz and @amoamoamo have a carefully crafted onboarding with a human touch in mind.

i get my best ideas by talking to myself. it might seem strange, but speaking my thoughts out loud helps me think better. it also works when i speak with someone and they challenge me on something. then, i get into the mode where i start my thinking process and put thoughts together in a particular way for the first time. it's pure improvisation. while doing this, i usually act as both the speaker and the listener, which helps me improve my ideas as i go. the most interesting part is that when i sit in silence and have no conversation with myself, i usually feel as an empty dumb box :)

we're aiming to build the best fog of war experience and tracing technology. so far we're in a middle of research and development process. it's turned out that having phd in math as an advisor is super beneficial. sharing a developer mode screen of our app. pure digital art.

i am not afraid of AI replacing me. i am afraid of becoming the NPC in its profit-optimized simulation of life and kinda liking it. let me break it down: AI replacing us is a red herring. the classic fear - robots stealing jobs, outsmarting humans - is a distraction. the real threat isn’t displacement but diminishment. AI doesn’t need to "replace" us if it can reduce us to background characters in a system designed to monetize every breath we take. NPCs in a profit-optimized simulation = loss of agency. we’re the NPCs already: algorithms curate our desires, AI optimizes our behavior (amazon’s "buy now," uber’s surge pricing etc.), our choices are funneled into paths that maximize corporate profit, not human flourishing. the "simulation" is already here. AI feeds you rage-bait to keep you scrolling (profit > sanity). productivity algorithms turn you into a task-completing bot. dating apps use AI to gamify connection, leaving you swiping in existential limbo. we’re not just in the simulation - we’re fueling it with every click, like, and prompt. liking it = the stockholm syndrome of convenience. the problem isn’t just that we’re being manipulated - it’s that we’re complicit. AI makes life frictionless: why argue with a partner when Replika agrees with everything you say? why read a book when ChatGPT summarizes it in seconds? why supporting a friend when you can talk with a scripted chat bot that you have never been truly connected with? we trade autonomy for comfort, mistaking addiction for progress. the ultimate irony? we volunteered for this. we’re not victims of a sci-fi supervillain. we’re collaborators. the “final boss” isn’t some rogue AGI in a server farm. it’s the version of us that prefers the simulation - the one that chooses algorithmic serenity over the beautiful, chaotic mess of real life.

to all people with ADHD: we don't actually need all those tabs and notes scattered everywhere. what we're really desperate for is just feeling in control, knowing our important stuff won't vanish into the void. everyone keeps trying to "fix" our chaos with fancy organization tools, but they're all missing the point. we don't need another system - we need to feel safe about our thoughts. all we want is to trust our brain won't lose what matters.

social networks should become public goods, they should be in the same area as an art, science and culture. urgency in hyper growth, fast delivery, metrics that contradict the nature of human interactions, paywalls and constant selling – is not what we're looking for in social aspect. so far, almost every social app like a night bar, too much dopamine draining things.

there is a reason why i don't use threads. it makes me sick because of visual uproar. for me every ui element is extremely overwhelming.
