J.K. Rowling and Elon Musk have both been named in a criminal complaint filed to French authorities over alleged “acts of aggravated cyber harassment” against Algerian boxer and newly crowned Olympic champion Imane Khelif.

I doubt this rule is ever enforced but what’s the point? It always strikes me as a throwback to the ‘children must be seen but not heard’ time. If the reason is they pay less than an adult, then should age pensioners and other concession holders be forced to stand too?
Woman in front me at the queue at the voting place was looking intently at both the Labor and liberal how to vote cards and i genuinely think she was deciding then and there who to vote for
The Australians parliament didn’t sit yesterday and this is entirely made up.
People make a living out of making people angry online and rather than fall for it we should ignore them.
There’s something really really funny about the project host asking for the baby to leave for being disruptive during the interview and then going right back to empathising with the mother about being asked to take her baby out during a comedy show for being disruptive.
I was thinking about how Steven Bradbury was also a punchline from the Olympics from a questionable performance, and unlike Raygun seemed to be an awesome person. Looked up what he’s doing now and he’s still awesome.
Raygun theories
She respects breakdancing so much as independent dance that she gave a bad performance to discredit it as an Olympic sport
She wanted to go to Paris
part of a sports betting scam
She lacks the cringe part of our dna that stops most of us from just having a go
Funny how much of the coalition’s woes is down to this woman. She had the safest of safe seats but she was such an unpleasant person that the community worked out a way to run a non Labor candidate and won, which helped inspire the teal and community independent movement.

Not to be pedantic but there’s no way that Peter Dutton was at a Queensland pub that was serving vodka and red bulls when he was 23 (31 years ago). Red Bull was not a common drink in Australia at that time.
A hotel I’m staying at in japan offers one hour of unlimited free beers in the bar for hotel guests every night. I will make them regret letting at Australian take advantage of this offer.
#BREAKING: Authorities say a man with coronavirus ignored instructions to self-isolate pending test results, instead working several shifts at Hobart's Grand Chancellor Hotel.
Not to get involved in the endless Sydney v Melbourne debate again, but one thing that Melbourne does have over Sydney is that Kyle Sandilands completely flopped in Melbourne where as Sydneysiders can’t get enough of the odious toad.
Unintentional, but the Australian Jewish Association/daily tele racist muckraking at Cairo Takeaway has essentially made the conspiracy theory that the antisemitic vandalism in Sydney is a false flag started by the Jewish community a lot easier to believe for many people.
It’s almost like gearing our entire economy, tax and benefit system to advantage wealthy retirees at the expense of working age young couples has a few downsides 🤷♂️
It’s very funny that Disney spent millions on their failed Star Wars hotel and its biggest impact on the cultural landscape will be a four hour Jenny Nicholson YouTube video on its shortcomings. piped.video/T0CpOYZZZW4?si=51so…
She actually has apologised, paid for the vom cleaning and damage, but professional race grifters like Gemma know this and ignore this because hate engagement from racists is how they pay their bills
I’m guessing retired baby boomers were not often texted at 7pm on a Saturday back in 1978 to edit a document on the cloud because those things didn’t exist.
WA baby boomers have joined the chorus of voices lashing the Federal Government’s right to disconnect rules as ‘absolute rubbish’, lambasting the new generation of workers as being ‘too soft’. bit.ly/3HUNvkQ
The United States condemns the sanctions imposed by the governments of United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, New Zealand, and Australia on two sitting members of the Israeli cabinet. These sanctions do not advance U.S.-led efforts to achieve a ceasefire, bring all hostages home, and end the war.
We reject any notion of equivalence: Hamas is a terrorist organization that committed unspeakable atrocities, continues to hold innocent civilians hostage, and prevents the people of Gaza from living in peace. We remind our partners not to forget who the real enemy is.
The United States urges the reversal of the sanctions and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel.
Lots of modern conservative thought is just being blissfully unaware of something’s that’s always existed in plain sight and then being outraged when learning that it exists.
For all of Australia’s faults, I can’t see one side of politics erupting in orgasmic glee if a horrible natural disaster hits a state where the other side of politics is currently in power
It would be super easy to run a strong campaign focusing exclusively on cost of living. But the problem is the political class aren’t impacted by cost of living, so they focus on weird nonsense.
It’s quite telling that so many of the political class have never held a normal job where you have to pretend to like someone that you despise that they literally don’t understand the concept of acting diplomatic with a fuckwit.
My favourite Julian Assange moment is when the embassy accused him of skateboarding indoors, he denied it, then they released footage of him skateboarding indoors.
I get that the ioc wants to protect the rights of broadcasters that spend big on the Olympics rights but copyright claiming every short 15 second clip on sm effectively means the games have no visibility for people that don’t watch traditional tv. Dumbass move.
To understand australia racism. A white wealthy tourist drunkenly attacked a poor fisherman completely unprovoked, and the fact that he avoided a serious jail time for his crime is universally reported as a ‘good news story’.
A Noosa surfer is tonight back on home soil after avoiding lengthy jail time for an alleged drunken, naked rampage in Indonesia.

Disgusting comments from peta credlin. Wishes her friend well, makes insinuations that cops have treated him unfairly and says the allegations are completely out of character for the man she knows. Awful woman.
“They all perform under masks and use pseudonyms so no one really knows who they are. But there are rumours that it includes members of The Wiggles or that they are all schoolteachers. The schoolteacher theory is plausible as their tours lined up with Victorian school holidays “
Pingers probably shouldn’t have put a poorly vetted list of homes he believed to be vacant online and also a woman who inherited a home in 2007 probably shouldn’t have left the home more or less vacant for 17 years.
Both things can be true.
I’m a gyg apologist. But the asx float being justified with future US expansion is laughable for anyone that’s ever been to the US. You can’t walk 50 metres without great affordable Mexican in any US city. It’s the same hubris of Starbucks thinking they could take over Australia.
It’s very strange how it’s become conservative coded in this country to hate the women’s soccer team. Such a completely random thing to be angry about. Especially they’ve performed much better than the men’s team in recent years.
Legitimate question. Is there a way to be against the Palestinian civilian deaths in Gaza in a way that would not get you accused of antisemitism by the likes of Dutton and the aja? Would there ever be an acceptable way to protest for these people?
No spin by Adam Bandt can change the reality that he, and other Green members, lost their seats because of their appalling treatment of the Jewish community.
Australians were rightly disgusted at their behaviour.
We were proud to preference the Greens last, helping to ensure Adam Bandt’s loss.
If it wasn’t for @6NewsAU there is absolutely no way Basil’s sexist hot mike clanger would have been picked up. Pretty much the entire Western Australia media in controlled by stokes and no way it would have gotten a run in anything he controls.
I feel that a lot of people that bought classic Queenslanders with one level, elevated on stilts, that they later converted to a two level home with no elevation are going to find out the hard way why those old Queenslanders were elevated in the first place
I just learned that Jeff Kennett split the running of Melbourne’s train network between competing companies to ‘encourage competition’. Did that guy’s brain work? People catch whatever train is closest to their home, how would competition help?
Most surprising things about yesterday’s hottest 100
No Sia. Would have thought chandelier would be in it.
No hoodoo gurus, especially since other 80s pub rock did quite well.

A new coal-fired power station in central Queensland has told the Morrison government it could be in jeopardy unless it receives more taxpayer funds.

Is hard to underestimate just how much albo hates the greens, but if he managed to find a kind word for Dutton after losing his seat, perhaps he can find the same sort of humility for bandt. Labor wants to win back greens voters, good idea not to openly antagonise them.
Why is hatred of bikes an essential factor into the conservative mindset in this country? It’s so random, like having an intense hatred of ducks or cinnamon.
At what point do we just agree that the term ‘woke’ is used so broadly that it essentially has no meaning? Whenever I hear someone using it non ironically I just assume it’s because they don’t have intelligence to make a cohesive argument about why they don’t like something.
Everyone that argues against this should have to publicly state how much they paid for university when they studied and compare that to the current debt for the same degree
I’m sure anyone with HECS debts will love this, of course. But this is just transferring their debt to all taxpayers. What’s next, cutting home mortgage debts. It’s so profoundly economically irresponsible…but the opposition will probably match it as a populist gesture. #auspol
I feel like the change the date movement went backwards because there was never a decisive answer from the movement for what date Australia Day should be. The current default is always going to win over an indecisive alternative in the long run.
‘My son illegally modified an electric unicycle to do go 120km, well above the 20km limit, and he put other lives at risk by riding at dangerous speeds on bike paths before he killed himself by his own dangerous actions. Here is why his death is the government’s fault’
If you could live anywhere in Australia and money and job wasn't an issue where would you live and what type of property would you live in? You can't say you want to live somewhere as it was 20 years ago, it has to be as it is today. I'd love to hear people's answers. 2/2
I hope this becomes a meme that every candidate for Kooyong does a version of like the Gladys with Diet Coke watching state of origin on a really small tv
Children on any able bodied adults should offer their seats to the elderly etc, but that’s just politeness and shouldn’t be a rule. The logic of this rule is that children should stand because they pay less for a ticket. It’s just weird.
I don’t get the greens, why can’t they just admit they had a a bad night? You cannot blame them losing two Queensland seats on the liberals and expect to be taken seriously.
We'll retain all our Senators, Melbourne & we’re looking good in Ryan, Wills & Richmond – we'll know more soon.
While our national vote has increased, the collapse in the Liberal vote means that Labor will win the seats of Griffith with Liberal preferences, and Brisbane too.
It kinda set the tone for this government when George Christensen spent half of the year as a sex tourist is south east Asia, to the point where he was pinged as a security risk and everyone just shrugged and went “ah well. What you gonna do?”
I’m so mystified at why the liberals chose a muppet version of albo for social media, given anyone millennial or older probably has pretty fond memories of the muppets
