Is it just me or do I feel like NOTHING I do every succeeds on Roblox? I'm not here to prove that my failed games were good but, I can't even start to comprehend why I'm failing. I look at one game, replicate it, and it fails. Then I see these verified devs releasing low effort games and getting like 1k+ CCU every time. I'm lowkey starting to get to my tipping point, feels like everything I do fails and 95% of the time I don't even know why..

Dont work w/ @zabuzeer Didn't follow any clear requirements, extended and failed to meet deadlines 3+ times, ghosts & refuses to refund. (game is unfinished & unplayable) Not a crazy amount of money was lost, but just a heads up for anyone thinking of hiring him.

When I was a new developer, I paid a kid (about 13-14) a few dollars for a simple flight system. He showed me his blox fruit game, which, respectfully, wasn't great. Months later, I stumbled upon a short on that EXACT game. It blew up, I heard it earned him over 10K+ USD. The game is "blox fruit but bad" (not the copies).

I feel like one of the worst parts of developing is this "false paradise" that alot of Youtubers promote. Succeeding is always just dumbed down to "oh yeah this game was satisfying, good ui, etc.." which is true, but no one every goes over the grueling years of effort, worry, and risk most people take to get to that point. I really hope someone comes and gives a real perspective on becoming a top dev, cause it seems like most people act like making 200k+ a year off cashgrabs is light work.

Some advice is 1st. Come to terms with failure 2nd. See if you can reuse or re-brand the game if the game fails & plan accordingly. Not saying your game will fail, but the algo can be luck, so it's good to think of Plan B

Roblox game design is odd. Your growth is so subtle you barely notice improvement. Unlike building and scripting, where progress is visible, you can't replicate a successful designer. They'll make a cheap, quick game and pull 5k+ CCU it's incomprehensible. Think of Jandel

This doesn't sound discipline problem but a process problem. Try evaluating the roots of the burnout, maybe starting too much games, not taking it as seriously, having too large of a scope. I was the same for a bit, thought I was just "undisciplined" when it was just the game itself tearing me apart.

I agree. Raphie your definitely doing great already but there are famous Roblox accounts with 50k followers. If you want to break past the 10k threshold you probably need to become influential as a person.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like this "ad credit" investment doesn't make much sense. Realistically speaking, if your game performs like trash within the first 10k-20k robux, it's already a clear indication that the game won't do good long term. If it does well, it'll hit algo and not need sponsors regardless. And sponsoring a bad game is just giving artificial players and wasting money.

Exactly. I'd say you need to be quick to remove people who are delaying your team. For me it's uncomfortable hiring new members and doing all the checks but it's often worthwhile compared to waiting on unreliable people, and plus you end up finding some even better partners too.

Pls Donate might not make it obvious but legit 90% of donations go towards some sort of "cause." So as long as you define it as a simple donation game instead of real fundraisers you may be fine (but roblox moderation is dookie so idk)

Yes but you have to realize that learning scripting is a time investment, the same way spending that same time doing commissions & growing your brand can increase your profits, allowing you to hire scripters that can do far better than what you'd achieve in a year. Theres many perspectives.

Eh.. Certain skills appeal to certain developers, it's hard to force. I think as long as you brand yourself, you can make $$$ with most skills, which you can then use to get scripters regardless.
