Assuming the version published by Bloomberg/CNN is accurate, the MOU with Iran is a denouement of American defeat. That is not to condemn the agreement, which is merely the expression of where this war has led us. Rather, it is to condemn what and who brought us to defeat.

The officials described the text of the MOU as incredibly vague, mainly intended to create a more favorable environment for the highly technical, in-person talks to come. They added that the framework is aimed at providing Iran the ability to sell it politically to their internal audience.

Donald Trump hasn't made anything materially better. 13 service members dead. 3,000 Iranians killed, billions of dollars, maybe hundreds of billions of dollars in 3 months, and prices spiked everywhere. There is a reason they are not publishing this deal and it's because it makes plain that this is one of the biggest foreign policy blunders in many generations.

Given the money spent and the lives lost, and the price of everything going up, it is intolerable that the agreement itself is not publicly available for everyone to read. There is no national security or other reason that justifies keeping everyone in the dark.

BREAKING: Iran says the US has agreed to pay $300 billion in reconstruction funds directly to Iran as part of the deal Pakistan announced, alongside the release of $24 billion in frozen funds with $12 billion released before negotiations even start, per Mehr News.
This directly contradicts Trump's & Vance's claim that no funds will be transferred to Iran at all.
If Trump denies this is true, there never was a deal. If Trump confirms, the US has fully capitulated to Iran's demands.

This is literally just the JCPOA. They literally have an MOU to negotiate the same deal Trump ripped up.
Administration officials say the core bargain is simple:
Iran gets access to sanctions relief and the global economy if it accepts verification measures, curbs nuclear activity, and reduces support for destabilizing regional activity.
The details remain largely undisclosed.
