The House passed two Energy Subcommittee bills from @HouseCommerce: the Energy Emergency Leadership Act and the Rural and Municipal Utility Cybersecurity Act. Strengthening our electric grid is critical to our national security and economic stability. The Energy Emergency Leadership Act, led by @RepLaurelLee, ensures the Department of Energy has dedicated leadership focused on energy security and emergency response. Defending our power grid requires clear, top-level accountability to meet emerging threats. I also supported the Rural and Municipal Utility Cybersecurity Act, led by @RepMMM, which equips rural and municipal utilities with the technical assistance needed to defend against cyber attacks. Every community deserves a resilient, secure energy system. As Energy Subcommittee Chairman of @HouseCommerce, I will continue to push for legislation that strengthens our electric grid, enhances cybersecurity, and establishes American energy dominance!

I enjoyed spending the afternoon at the Ross Expo Center learning more about the many events hosted there that support the fairgrounds and the local community. The fairgrounds play an important role in bringing people together and serving residents throughout the year.

I was delighted to welcome Sarah from Bowling Green, the winner of this year’s #OH5 Congressional Art Competition, to the U.S. Capitol for the unveiling of her artwork. Her piece showcases the tremendous talent found throughout Ohio’s Fifth District, and I am proud it will be displayed in the Capitol for visitors to enjoy.

At yesterday’s Energy Subcommittee @HouseCommerce markup, the Ratepayer Protection Act passed. This legislation protects ratepayers against rising energy costs due to increasing demands from data centers and other large load users. This morning, I participated in a great roundtable discussion on energy infrastructure and permitting at the Honeywell Future at the Energy Summit breakfast. We had an engaging conversation about the importance of modernizing our energy infrastructure, improving the permitting process, the work Congress is doing to strengthen America's energy future, and ways we can better support businesses and economic growth.

As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, there’s no better time to visit museums across Ohio and our nation to learn more about the people, events, and traditions that shaped our country. Today, I visited the Spirit of ’76 Museum in Wellington, Ohio. The museum honors the legacy of Archibald Willard, the Wellington native who painted “The Spirit of ’76,” one of America’s most iconic patriotic works of art. The famous oil painting, which depicts a flag bearer, drummer boy, and fifer marching across a Revolutionary War battlefield, has inspired generations of Americans and serves as a powerful reminder of the courage and sacrifice that secured our nation’s independence. #America250 #OH5
