2001: Dirk’s 1st playoff series win as Malone misses buzzer beater in Utah
2020: Luka’s 1st playoff series win as Bogdanovic misses buzzer beater in Utah
How is Donnie Nelson not getting more pub on list of great GM’s when he scouted and traded for Luka and then stole Porzingis (& Hardaway) from Knicks. Not to mention contributions from undrafted Maxi and DFS. Plus the best bubble signing in Burke
The last time a team came back from a 15-point deficit in the 4th Quarter to win in the NBA Finals?
2011 Finals Game 2:
Mavs win over the Heat when they were down 15 with under 7 min to play.
So proud of this team, the coaches and staff, the passionate fans and all of the great people I got the honor and privilege to help tell the story of this season with.
The pain is real and the future is bright.

Luka has four 50+ point games. No other player has more than two. He is .2 from scoring lead (thanks to a 3 min game vs PHX) and is averaging 33/8/9. He is the MVP.
Oh yeah, the ref that tossed KP?
Lane Fitzgerald.
Sound familiar? He’s the ref who called the foul on Trey Burke when Dame flopped at end of Blazers game last week costing Mavs that game.
Hmmmm
Cooper Flagg visits the Mavs today.
Jason Kidd has been calling him “the kid from Duke.”
But to understand him, we have to go back before Duke to learn about “the kid from Maine” and how his high school roots shaped Dallas’ next star.

So Mavs trade for Luka is complete: Luka for Cam Reddish & Wendell Carter Jr (the Mavs would not have selected Trae Young). You do this trade 1,000 out of 1,000 times.
The Mavs essentially traded the 26th pick this year for Wood. The question is: would they have gotten an immediate contributor with that pick in the draft better than a 19/9 guy in Wood? The answer is no. Love this. @MFollowill will drop a pod with reaction Monday
ALL FOUR ONE 🏀💙 Luka Doncic said it best, "When you think of Dallas, you think of Dirk".
@bdameris remembers the legacy of the greatest Maverick of all time and the road it took to get him here. Chills.

When a coach calls a team soft, it can go one of two ways.
The Mavs response tonight so far shows they have the chemistry and trust to make them grow tougher and stronger
Cooper Flagg shined at Duke, but started in Maine. Here's the story you don't know, dating all the way back to when he was 14 years old.
To know “the kid from Duke,” you have to know “the kid from Maine.”

It's a crucial offseason for the Mavs.

Dana, Devin and I reflect in this amazing season and look ahead now on @BallySportsSW. These are the good ol’ days.
I hope you have enjoyed this year and these last 6 weeks as much as I have enjoyed sharing them with you.
As I said yesterday...we did a podcast because it's important to know that we empathize and understand everyone's emotions.
But also our pod was a little step forward and we'll take another one tonight because it's the proper and professional thing to do. And I do games one way...with passion and enthusiasm. The organization, players, viewers etc deserve that.
For Mavs at Sixers tonight - Lesley McCaslin has a good interview with the debuting Max Christie (it airs at approx 6:05p). Kyrie and Gafford are back. PJ is out (personal reasons). Sixers have a host of questionable guys for tonight including Embiid...so updates later.
The two teams (New Orleans and Memphis) tied with Dallas with same exact 6% chance for 1st pick and 6.3% chance at 2nd pick went 1 and 2. DAL drops to 10 and conveys to ATL #again
The Suns will make a run at some point. Have to keep pressing on and weather the storm. Ayton hasnt touched the ball and Suns are hunting fouls and flustered on O. Get in the paint.
Cooper Flagg’s coach knew he was in for something special when he saw him do this at the age of 14….read and SEE it here…
