Emergency and public utility developer use-cases are vital to our X platform and serving humanity.
We are transforming our API platform to new modern systems and are in the process of migrating all developers to our new X API v2 by June 30th, 2024. Any developer with an emergency or public utility app, will also need to move to our new v2 API by this timeline.
We will continue enabling Verified gov or publicly owned services who post weather alerts, transport updates and emergency notifications without cost.

This is consistent with our new X Safety profile labels for parody accounts. 🚢
We’re rolling out profile labels for parody accounts to clearly distinguish these types of accounts and their content on our platform. We designed these labels to increase transparency and to ensure that users are not deceived into thinking such accounts belong to the entity being parodied. Parody labels will be applied to both posts and accounts on X to clearly demonstrate the source of the content you’re seeing. We’ll share details soon on when the label will become mandatory for parody accounts.
These accounts, like all accounts on X, must still adhere to the X Rules - particularly our Authenticity policy: help.x.com/rules-and-policie…. If you believe an account is inauthentic or impersonating an entity, you can report the account in-app or via our Help Center.
