This evening I pulled a gentleman from a mid-sized SUV after he tried to avoid a deer. He lost control, rolled the vehicle a few times, and skipped the berm between east and west I70. This is a reminder. It is almost always better to hit Bambi than to swerve to miss it-especially at speed.
I checked him out real quick, gave him a blood-soaker for his head and turned him over to the officer when he arrived. He is really lucky he didn’t end up in oncoming traffic. The vehicle not so much.

In 1775, 99% of the world was ruled by some derivation of a king (whatever title you like). That concept of a supreme leader from which the rights of a subject are derived had been the status quo for most of human existence (few exceptions). That was almost 250 years ago. Show me a ‘king’ today that isn’t a figurehead. Of those that aren’t show me a ‘king’ that doesn’t rule over a complete shithole. They exist, but are few.
My point is America changed the world and, for the most part, we run it. We should return to the principles that started that movement. History is full of examples of the fall of nations considerably older than ours. We ignore those lessons to our peril.
