Iyad Hassan Hussein Fatafteh was released from prison in exchange for hostages.
In December 2010, he and an accomplice attacked Christine Loken and
@TalHartuv in Mata forest near Beit Shemesh, west of Jerusalem.
They approached the women asking for water, then attacked with a knife and stole their money. They tied the women's hands with shoelaces, gagged them, and forced them to kneel. Despite their pleas, the attackers stabbed them multiple times. Christine was killed instantly.
@TalHartuv was stabbed 13 times, suffering a broken sternum, ribs, punctured lungs and diaphragm, and a dislocated shoulder. The attackers returned to ensure the killing, stabbing Wilson once more in the chest. She regained consciousness among bushes, dragged herself to a parking lot, and was found by a family who called authorities.
She was hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem in critical condition and survived. A DNA sample from her pocketknife led to the terrorists' capture. Fatafteh was sentenced to life in prison.
This is Christine Loken. She was 46.
