Reis winning LA had me reflecting a bit, & I want to hear your thoughts...
4 & 1/2 years ago, @limonlime94 swept the 327-person LA Mega tournament 9-0. There were 136 competitors in LA this past weekend.
300+ players showed up to a grassroots tournament with no P!P, no Championship Points, & no prize money.
It shows that we are still working to recover from the damage the pandemic did to our grassroots communities. Our regional tournament - 4+ years later - attracted less than 1/2 of the 2019 competitors, even though it had official support.
This isn't meant to be a negative. If anything, it shows the highs that our game can return to, and even surpass.
I want to ask you: what will it take to bring back our grassroots communities, and further grow our Play! Pokémon tournament numbers? Do you have any ideas? I'll read every comment! ⬇️
