My honest feedback and experience with Gigantamax Battles:
They’re WAY too difficult. Party play doesn’t work, dodging doesn’t work, it’s a big mess.
I lost count how many battles we failed despite having 40 people in them. A big group of us had to stand at the same battle and keep trying over and over again, it was incredibly frustrating. Especially because we all evolved and powered up lots of Pokémon to still just fail anyway.
I saw a lot of people going in with starter Pokémon and Wooloos, which obviously didn’t help at all and lots of varied leveled players. But with a 5 star raid for example, if you get a full lobby of 20, even if some people don’t tap, are lower level or just come in with crappy counters, you still have the assurance that eventually you’ll get the raid done, with these battles there’s zero confidence that even with 40 people you’ll actually complete them.
Also, I had a lot of people tell me online that they had canceled their organised commonality meetups as they didn’t have the confidence they could actually defeat them. Lots of community’s have just given up and aren’t meeting up to even attempt them, which is just sad to hear.
My constructive feedback would be the difficulty needs to be lowered, these need to be easier to do there’s no question about it. Also being able to invite people to remote battle these, even if it’s limited to a certain amount a day would help so many people.
Once again, this is another slap in the face to rural communities, and small communities in general. If I live in a big city and I’m struggling to do these, then small communities literally have no chance.
