I got my love for sprint car racing from my dad. Today would've been his bday. I love to share on days like this is the beauty of his headstone. It's because of him my passion for racing runs deep & I started writing. He'd be bragging about what I chose for him if he could. 😁

There is literally no reason to be this kind of race fan. The theme of the race isn't throw your beer cans everywhere or toward the race track. This is the behavior that's wrong in our sport and ruins everything.

10 yrs ago, my best friend was hit on his motorcycle on his way home from his navy base & killed. This was my 21st bday & depicts our friendship perfectly. As a corpsman he served in Iraq, North Korea, & Afghanistan alongside Marines. Make memories where you can. I'm glad I did.

If you have sent me a message, text, email, tagged me, and not gotten a response, I am sorry. I was life lighted Monday due to becoming septic from a miscarriage. I had emergency surgery on Monday and while I am home now, I am still very sick as I do still have bacteria in my blood. Patrick has been manning my phone and will continue to respond to things as he can. Right now I just need rest and as little stress as possible. If you know me at all, you know how hard that is. Take it easy on my husband, he's doing his best. Thanks for understanding.

One year ago today at this very racetrack, I met this guy. We've trekked all over creation since to races. He's supported my writing, photos, and even my horses with his whole heart since. Probably no better place to celebrate an anniversary than the sprint car capital.

I want to point something out that to me is honestly incredibly cool. The FS1 airing for HL had 239,000 views. The puppets are approx 6,000 in ownership (hope I'm using correct words) PLUS the many more who want a puppet or support the puppets - world wide. They potentially were the largest demographic numbers wise to tune into the FS1 airing of new race fans. In a sport where we've struggled to organically grow, they blew us out of the water. As a member of the media & a Tyler Walker fan, I'm proud to see what they did & despite what happened with Ron, I sure hope they stick around with us.

Leaving for the nationals is always a little bittersweet. In 2003, I spent the Knoxville Nationals with my dad for the last time. While that week was spent with sadness over losing Keith Hutton (his friend), the Nationals was still the last of racing quality time we had each summer. In 03', a month to the day of Keith's accident, we lost my father to a heart attack. Sprint cars and Knoxville was the very foundation of our bond. This is my favorite time of the year and also my most painful. Here's to my 38th Knoxville Nationals, and another solid reason we should always appreciate these moments in racing surrounded by our friends.
