My final post on the Godot drama. It’s tough to admit, but I lost a fellow game dev friend because of my views on the situation. However, I’ve also gained new friends along the way. We should all strive to respect each other’s opinions, even when they differ greatly. It’s okay not to agree on everything—that’s part of life. What’s most harmful is when we force our beliefs onto others. In a community that’s meant to foster creativity and collaboration, we owe it to each other to respect different perspectives. We’re here to make games, share fun, and hopefully bring people together through that shared experience.

Some or most working jobs at the same time. We wake up way too early. We spend very little leisure time all to build something we are passionate about that hopefully someone will enjoy for less than the cost of a single fast food meal. When you leave a review or email about something, please keep in mind we are not mindless robots doing a job we don't like for a company that pays too little. Please be respectful and understanding.

How I started my Game dev journey - 10 years in restaurants, from GM to KM to server. All leading no where. Horribly depressed. - Started college, got an associates in Game Design, associates in Mobile development - Immedietly started projects while in school for experience to join a company - 8 years applying with 0 interviews or callbacks + full time job and still making games - Realized college was a scam and dropped out before a bachelors (still 40k in racked up debt) - Officially gave up on working for a AAA company - 9 released games later and almost full time indie Almost.... Yes, the 80 hour week journey for a decade was and is worth it. Very few of us will make it big and that is OK. You can survive by making a ton of small games compounding passive income over the years.

Indie Dev Marketing - Part 5 - How to get 10k Wishlists A picture is worth a 1000 words. 1. Kickstarter is more than just raising funds. It's an amazing marketing tool when done right. 2. @GymLeaderEd has been amazing. Influencers can have a nice impact if you can find one in your genre. 3. Ads - Although they are paid, they can give a nice steady stream of income. Even $5 a day if you can swing it will help those slow times between events. I use FB as it has the best CPC and targeted marketing. 4. Gaming sites like @gamingbible, although very VERY hard to get a feature, are still a solid platform for marketing. 5. Publishers can get you into events that aren't available to the public. 6. The biggest push of them all is the age old, to get you wishlists, you have to have wishlists. As soon as you get on the top WL for steam, you get an absurd amount of push for a solid 2 weeks. 7. Steam events are easily your go to source. Don't take them lightly and ALWAYS sign up for the relevant ones. You won't succeed otherwise. #indiegamedev

To be clear: This wasn’t supposed to pop off. I don’t know if they were paid or not — I’m just saying something about this feels off. No way it should say “100% loved the game” when a 2.7 rating flashes up. Even if it’s review bombing, Steam was around 81% last I checked. The fact that the rating shows for a moment and then vanishes is... worrying. I don’t have a strong opinion on the game or Ubisoft. Just pointing out the inconsistencies.

If you're a game developer and don't have a discord... get one now. No matter how small you are. I still remember my first person. It might have been weird alone in a server with one person. Sure but if you care, players care back. We are now almost at 800 members and let me just say, your players opinions are the most important thing while developing a game. It's hard to get that in typical social media.

Ok let me get this straight... I spent 6 hours figuring out how to loop through the 100k tiles in the games maps and changing them so you could have seasons; To find out that I could just changed each tile type individually (200) and refreshed the maps? They don't teach this in college. Anyways. SNOWDAY!

"Make a multiplayer game, it's easy" they said. This is 10 days of setup work, join codes, spawning, moving, turning and teleporting. Today starts the daily updates on Chronomons multiplayer setup! It will be multi-platform compatible. Apple -> Google -> PC can all play together. Stay tuned tomorrow for more updates! Chronomon doesn't do "monthly" updates. We update each feature, always. Update .8010 is out now and we officially have online PVP! Next up is online trading. After that... Co-op mode. It keeps getting better, for less than the price of Mcdonalds meal =)

Recently released a game that took 3 years to make. Months after release now and it didn't even make it to 50 reviews. That was with 15k wishlists on launch and a positive rating. I think we as devs forget to test early and get an MVP out asap, instead just shooting for the moon on what we want as a game. I'm coming to the realization that more smaller games can outpace 1 large game in terms of revenue.

I've been so busy creating that I forgot about marketing. I'm sure other indies feel this pain! New Features coming in soon! Update .8013 - Town festivals - More NPC schedules and quests - 10+ new Decoration items including fish tanks to show off your best catches (Decorate the tank as well) - New bait to purposefully catch junk - More town building quests to unlock and expand towns And of course bug fixes and small changes =)

Listen... devs aren't perfect, bugs will happen. I love setting up mailboxes to accept fixes from the server! A simple system to proactively Fix any issues so you don't have to wait for an update. - Issue with your quests? I can fix that! - Missing a monster - sent! Of course I have to retroactively know what will break, better than nothing =)

If you want to allow DEI and pronouns in your game, more power to you. Games are meant to be an extention of your beliefs and creativity. With that said... If you are purposefully pushing an agenda, you better put that in every article and description first. Gamers don't want to be ambushed with things they don't believe especially when it takes you "out of the game - into the dei frying pan". Most of us just want to play a game.

Rearanging your home shouldn't be difficult. Even if you live like a bachelor(ette). Drag and drop your items WHILE moving. This will be especially useful once you unlock all 6 rooms and both stories.

We are currently sprinting our way to 1.0 with a TON of changes! Just a few to note. - Massive controller changes and fixes to ensure QOL and ease of use. Including a fix for A/B default - UI changes, proper coloring and enhanced visuals - Mines get a facelift, some fun fog and digging for treasure - New modern tutorials for easy on-boarding - Final bug fixes (So close!) - On screen hints for how to interact - Localization fixes - New EXP calculations for easy leveling weaker monsters - ETC There are too many to write here but rest assured that we are on the job. I hope you wishlist Chronomon and maybe give it a try at full launch!
