Oracle has laid off 21,000 employees citing AI. AI billionaires want to replace millions of workers. We need a plan to keep Americans employed.

Soon, the House will vote on an amendment to block taxpayer funding to Israel’s military. I will vote yes. The Israeli government committed war crimes in Gaza and helped drag America into war with Iran. Americans should not be financing more weapons for Netanyahu. I am aware that the amendment as written may cut off both military weapons (~$3.3 billion) and some diplomatic funding (~$50 million). While I would prefer to vote on an amendment that stripped just military funding, I think opposing the billions in military funding is what’s most important here.

A tech giant just admitted — in writing, to the federal government — that they’re laying off thousands of workers because of AI. It’s why Congress needs to pass my proposal to tax AI and keep people employed.

For the first time in over 50 years, Congress ordered a sitting president to end a war. Trump’s war in Iran is illegal and disastrous.

No delays and no excuses. Next time Democrats have power, we must restore voting rights, abolish the filibuster, and reform the Supreme Court.

On this one, I’m with Joe. Any disruption to Big Bend for Trump’s border wall is B.S.

Trump promised to Make America Healthy Again.  Instead, his administration convinced the Supreme Court to give immunity to corporations whose pesticides can cause cancer. Yet again, Trump sells out working people to corporate interests.
The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that Monsanto cannot be held liable under state laws for failing to warn consumers about the alleged cancer risks of its weedkiller Roundup on its label. cbsn.ws/4eFDUya

Awful. Trump's far-right Supreme Court majority is green lighting his lawless attacks on immigrants trying to follow the law. Terrible for rule of law and for families just trying to get by.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court rules 6-3 in favor of the Trump admin on Temporary Protected Status, blocking the lawsuit on jurisdictional grounds, allowing DHS to strip over 350,000 people of legal status even though they utterly failed to follow the required legal procedures.

We must reform the most unethical, partisan Supreme Court in modern American history.

Restore voting rights. End the filibuster. Reform the Supreme Court.
New: Key House caucus leaders are targeting SCOTUS and the Senate filibuster in a new resolution. The CPC, CBC, CHC and CAPAC chairs are all leading. It's the latest indicator of how the CBC wants to respond to Callais and lays down a marker for progressives as they seek to influence the Dem agenda. politico.com/live-updates/20…

Over and over Republicans said they would not kick Americans off health care. They lied. New data shows 5 million people have already lost insurance.
NEW: The number of people enrolled in Medicaid and Affordable Care Act plans fell by more than 5 million in the last 12 months, according to a new report from the advocacy group Protect Our Care. The decline stems in part from President Trump’s “big, beautiful” bill and the expiration of the enhanced ACA subsidies, the group claims. nbcnews.com/health/health-ne…

Congressman Greg Casar retweeted
Thank you, @RepCasar, for your advocacy for #DACA and Dreamers!
This month marks the 14th anniversary of DACA. Under Trump, nearly 270 Dreamers have been detained and at least 85 deported. When I met with Dreamers in Austin, I promised to keep fighting for permanent protections and a real pathway to citizenship.

This is a big deal. For the first time since 1973, both the House and the Senate have approved this kind of resolution directing the president to end a war. Republicans and Democrats in both the House and the Senate voted for this. Trump must end his illegal, disastrous war. nitter.app/phildstewart/status/20…
(Reuters) - The Republican-majority U.S. Senate backed legislation on Tuesday to halt U.S. military action against Iran. The Senate voted 50-48 in favor of the concurrent resolution, which passed the House of Representatives early this month, reflecting growing concern even among some of Trump's Republicans about the unpopular conflict that began on February 28.

Texas' abortion ban is risking lives. An Austin woman was bleeding from her miscarriage, but healthcare providers didn’t remove dead fetal tissue from her body. A few weeks later, she bled until her clothes were soaked. She eventually got the care she needed — outside of TX.
There came a point when the chills, fever and cramps were so intense that Lynn Callaway thought she might die. (Via @TexasTribune) cbsaustin.com/news/local/aus…

AI companies give Trump’s Republican Party millions of dollars, then Republicans block all AI regulations and downplay the risks. We need to tax AI to pay for a jobs program to keep Americans employed.
Vance on AI: Some people will lose their jobs. But I just don't buy this idea that it's going to lead to mass unemployment.

Republicans in Congress kicked 15 million Americans off health care because we ‘can’t afford it.’ Meanwhile:
The Pentagon is now telling members of Congress that it needs $80 billion to cover costs from the Iran war, plus other non-war-related bills. Pentagon leaders say they could start running out of money for operations this summer unless Congress passes a new wartime spending bill.
