Message from the Community Trust, registered charity of Reading Football Club. Our close, collaborative and mutually valued connection with the club is naturally of paramount importance in helping us to provide the vital support and the innovative programmes and initiatives which are changing lives in every corner of our community. During a challenging period in the club's long, rich history, we fully support Reading Football Club, its staff, players and supporters and - like everyone emotionally connected or invested in the club - we are hoping for a swift resolution to the current situation which can secure a bright future for the club. It is important to clarify to our participants, our parents, our schools, our delivery partners, our sponsors and all of our key stakeholders that the Community Trust is a registered charity and, therefore, an entirely separate entity to the club. We can reassure all who interact with the Trust that our governance and finances are independent and, as a charity, we are not experiencing the same financial challenges the club are currently experiencing. All income generated from session fees, programme delivery, generous donations and our funding streams continues to enable the Trust to deliver its wide range of impactful activities and initiatives to the town, its community and beyond. This work won’t stop. It will grow, it will reach more people, it will make more positive change across that community and it will continue to do so with the full support of the football club. The Trust are truly grateful to our partners, sponsors, donors, fundraisers and every fan who purchases a Golden Gamble ticket - all of the proceeds from which go directly into helping the Trust continue to grow and reach a wider community in need of our support.

It has been my absolute privilege to have had the opportunity to follow @Tom5Mc's career trajectory from the very start – as his coach at grassroots level, he had something special and so it was proven as he progressed through every age group in the club’s Academy and into the first team of a club he supported, championed at every opportunity and impeccably represented throughout. I watched as, along that pathway, he developed into a compassionate and thoughtful young man, an outstanding ambassador for both club and Trust – and a committed and versatile professional footballer. And after his move last week, I’d just like to thank him for his dedication, his ongoing friendship and his unequivocal support for the Community Trust and its many programmes and initiatives – always happy to share his journey to inspire others, always willing to drop into a football camp or a school visit, always keen to offer advice to our social inclusion college students or our coaches. On behalf of everyone at the Trust, we wish you all the best in the next step of your career. And we will watch you rise yet higher, we have no doubt. Once a Royal, always a Royal. In partnership with @Levy_UK, we have recently delivered milk and food to the food bank at @Whitley_CDA The Community Trust and Levy Restaurants donate supplies to food banks around Reading and Berkshire from the @SC_Leasing stadium and @NewburyRacing . Dave Evans ( RFC Community Trust Manager) said – the relationship is hugely valuable as it helps families within the local communities regarding accessing food from local food banks, Levy restaurants have been a key partner over the last 10 years, especially supportive over the Covid period.

The RFC Community Trust continues to grow and our brand new facility at South Reading Leisure Centre – Reading Alternative Provision (RAP) Education Hub was recently opened. We would like to sincerely thank Select Car Leasing whose partnership has been recognised with a room in their name at a facility which will enable the Trust to develop and enhance the crucial support we offer to the local community through programmes including Premier Leagues Kicks #PLKicks Premier League Inspires and our own Reading Alternative Provision initiative. Creating mentally healthy environments is the theme for this year’s @PremierLeague Inspires Challenge. Students from @denefield_PE @kaprospect @St_Barts_School @jog_school and @GarthHillColl spent a day at the SCL stadium and presented their social action projects. Our judges including @_Felix_clements - local dancer and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist, our Trustee - Andrew Reaney, Izzy Heath - Berks and Bucks FA Women and Girls Development Officer and Charlie Andrews and Lynden Baldwin from Microsoft were asked to select the most impactful project. With all the excellent, well considered and innovative ideas, this was not an easy task.
