As a nurse, this is disgusting, this is unacceptable, this is neglect, and this is evil. To have a patient screaming in agony and to be sitting there, ignoring it, to ask her questions and chart as she’s actively in labor and clearly in pain is horrifying.
As a black woman who is a nurse and has seen it with my own eyes, this is the EXACT reason I push for advocacy and speaking up. MEDICAL RACISM KILLS PEOPLE.
There needs to be awareness brought to this.
This black woman is screaming in agonizing pain and instead of taking her straight to a room they had her in the waiting room for more than 30 minutes. Her son was born 12 minutes after this video cut off.

Soapbox moment here. This was torture and it’s inhumane. They didn’t even allow Adriana to rest peacefully and kept her body alive artificially for MONTHS against her family’s wishes so the baby could be carried to term. They stripped Adriana of her dignity and autonomy over her own body even in death and forced her family to endure her being used as an incubator for months. The baby has been delivered but is fighting for his life after being born weighing less than 2 pounds. Due to fluid being on his brain the extent of the damage is unknown, he may be severely disabled.
These are the kinds of outcomes that can happen when legislature becomes the ultimate deciding factor for what happens to someone’s body and it’s especially heinous to take that decision away from the people that knew and loved her. Adriana deserved better and this shouldn’t be celebrated. Pro-life, but at what cost?
She gave birth a couple of days ago and the baby is 1lb 13 ounces in the NICU. They are taking Adriana Smith off life support later today. 🥺🕊️
