The administration is claiming they stopped an $830 million contract to conduct "surveys" that was about to be signed. I haven't seen evidence that it exists, and given the lack of info, my best guess for what the contract could be means Musk/DOGE's claim is false and misleading.
Actually Steve Davis, who works with Musk at DOGE, corrected it in the interview saying that the online survey was part of an $830 million contract by the Department of the Interior that DOGE stopped.  We saw the internal emails and contract that was stopped to back that up.
