Hey @netflix, what about creating "White Mirror" to show all the good ways we could use technology to improve society.
These dystopian shows are really depressing. Yet, it's through good science fiction that we spark the imagination of citizens to build the future.
People want to feel like athletes.
Optimized sleep, nutrition, health, longevity, mental health, social life.
The high-performance lifestyle will be mainstream in 5/10 years.

It has been swimming in the ocean since 1627. It was born before Isaac Newton.
It is the oldest living vertebrate known on the planet.
• 40% of all men show depressive symptoms.
• 44% of all men had thoughts of suicide in the prior two weeks; younger men show the highest levels of depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation.
• 40% of all men say they trust one or more “men’s rights,” anti-feminist, or pro-violence voices from the manosphere; nearly half of younger men say they trust such voices.
• Men aged 18 to 23 have the least optimism for their futures and the lowest levels of social support.
• 65% of men aged 18 to 23 say that “no one really knows me well.”

The next 10 years will be the most exciting time to be alive.
The more interest there is in longevity, the faster progress will be made.
People don’t realize how close we are getting to succeeding in reversing aging. That's why we need to talk about it and make the longevity movement much bigger.

Engineering used to come first. Today narrative building is on par with engineering.

Forecast is an app to build community around crowdsourced predictions.
Will it help find the truth?
It would be great to push people to have skin in the game and bet on their predictions the way @balajis suggested.

Luxury Beliefs are Status Symbols
"Luxury beliefs have, to a large extent, replaced luxury goods.
Luxury beliefs are ideas and opinions that confer status on the upper class, while often inflicting costs on the lower classes."

📡 Living in the Future
This conversation between @balajis and @david_perell is so insightful, I had to create a public note.
Tons to learn about the future of writing, life extension, genomics, digital cities, and a lot of other original ideas.

It’s crazy the impact on your wellbeing that a city can have. Walkable, green, small streets, beautiful architecture, terraces everywhere… This is powerful.
Chose your city accordingly
How can you not be fascinated with the future of health optimization and longevity?
The next decade will be about building a preventive health system that comes *before* healthcare.
In 2030, health will be vastly different from now.
Will Apple Solve the Longevity Problem?
Apple may be on its way to help us live much longer, and take on life extension — "the most important thing we can invent." @balajis

We have physiological data that shows the effect of nutritional diet on metabolism. You can see the glucose spike after a cookie.
Do we have graphs that show the effect of information diet on neurology? Can we see the dopamine spike after a tweet?
Hi everyone 👋 — So after finding out my metabolism was in very bad shape, we spent months relentlessly learning, experimenting & building a product to help people optimize their health.
I'm really excited to finally unveil @lifetizr.

Time to shift back the focus to strength training for the next 6–9 months.
Goal: get my powerlifting total (squat, bench, deadlift) to 1,350+ lbs. Will share updates.
Most important metric for an individual? Probably your personal runway, namely your savings divided by your burn rate. Maximizing this can be easier than making more money. For example, it's often easier to cut burn by 3X (by moving abroad) than to increase your net worth by 3X.
Some health & wellness practices you could experiment with in 2022:
• Sauna
• Cold showers
• Extended fasts
• Being optimistic
• Zone 2 training
• Strength training
• Time-restricted eating
• Walking after your meals
• Monitoring your health metrics
Make more asymmetric bets:
- DM a founder for a job
- cold email someone you admire
- ask a famous company for a partnership
If you try enough, it will work at some point, with an asymmetric return
Just need to get used to the discomfort of being out there, trying repeatedly
“When you get a core group of ten great people, it becomes self-policing as to who they let into that group.
So I consider the most important job of someone like myself is recruiting.”

The next 10 years can (will?) be the most exciting time to be alive.
Imagine if we overcame aging and people could live a healthy & active life for as long as they wish.
Many people chose to focus on the potential costs & negative side effects.
But what might be some of the hidden benefits of longevity?
barcelona is such a fit city, gyms are full, lots of people training in parks/ running, you see jacked people daily
yet, the gym quality/culture is overall very bad
big opportunity to build serious gyms in the city (and in europe overall)
I dream of one day opening a serious gym like this in Barcelona. Unfortunately, gym culture still has a long way to go in Europe.
Maybe called: The Vital Lab™️
I love fitness and tech, but for some reason, I can’t get excited about connected weights setups.
For me, it doesn’t get any better than free weights, kettlebells, and power racks.

Engineers from non-English speaking countries all over the world:
The highest leverage thing you can do for your career is to invest in getting a solid English level (B2+)
Remote work will bring a lot of opportunities, but primarily for people speaking & writing English well
We're seeing a shift toward longevity drugs (vs. longevity genes) in recent years. There was an explosion in the number of drugs associated with longevity.
