Not to speak for James Gunn but I believe #StarLord's mask was always meant to be symbolic of his Celestial lineage. When he wears it, he kind of looks like a human Celestial...which is what he is. It's destruction in Guardians 2 was probably meant to mirror Peter shedding off Ego. Since Infinity War and Endgame weren't directed by James, that theme was probably overlooked to make the crossovers feel more iconic. But my guess is that it wasn't included in Guardians 3 to continue that symbolism of Peter being happy with being a mortal.

Anthony Mackie is spot-on here. MCU Steve Rogers was never this nationalist guy who was always about America specifically. He's just a guy who hated bullies and valued freedom and integrity. That's what the Captain America mantle is about in the MCU. Being a selfless protector of lives and freedom in a chaotic world of corrupt leaders. You'll be hard-pressed to find any lines from Steve Rogers about how he's some nationalist hero outside of when he was purposely being used for wartime propaganda. "Captain America" is just MCU "Integrity Man".

"I am not your failure, Obi-Wan." This line is incredible IMO. To me, this was both Anakin Skywalker's compassion and Darth Vader's ruthlessness bundled into one. Anakin trying to lift the guilt from his master while Vader unapologetically claims responsibility for killing the good man Anakin was. The use of Red and Blue light in this scene is masterful.

After the movie, someone behind me said, "Google 'Eternals Explained' on New Rockstars after this" to their partner. I turned to him and said: "You watch New Rockstars?" And he was like, "Yeah!" I pull down my mask. Me: "Wassap man?!" *zero recognition* I have been humbled.

Alright. #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld is genuinely a good movie and I highly recommend it. Sam Wilson continues to prove that he has the right heart and incredible skill to be the new Captain America. And Joaquin Torres is EXCELLENT as his charming sidekick. Would I say that this is better than Cap 2? No...BUT it takes a lot of inspiration from that movie to craft a high stakes tale that is quite fun in it's own right. However, I will say that the CG in this movie SOMETIMES isn't the best at parts. It's nothing unacceptable like that black kid in Thor 4...but there are times where it's like "Oh shit. That's a green screen there." Also, I will also say that The Leader could have been handled a bit better considering the years of buildup...BUT I still enjoyed seeing him again with his new powerset. Harrison Ford as Ross is fantastic. Wish there was more Red Hulk in the movie but that's okay. He still puts on a great performance. All in all, I really dug this movie. Especially as a SAM WILSON Cap movie rather than a sequel to Steve Rogers' story. If you watch the movie without expecting Steve Rogers level fighting and action, you'll have a good time. Because what this unenhanced hero does in this movie is kind of incredible considering the crazy odds stacked against him. However, if you go into this comparing the movie to the previous Cap movies, you'll probably end up disappointing yourself. Yeah, these movies share the same title as Steve's trilogy...but it's SAM'S movie. So go in expecting an incredibly skilled black man kicking ass and getting his ass kicked rather than focusing on the absence of your favorite super soldier. I had a good time with this movie and I feel like you will too. It's a great start to Sam's career as Captain America. I'd give it a solid 8/10. Looking forward to more Sam Wilson Captain America movies.

First of all, they did bring this up in Thunderbolts. Secondly, these comments glorifying Walker for killing that Flagsmasher "because they were a terrorist" are missing the entire point of US Agent's character. Captain America's shield is meant to be used in DEFENSE of the innocent...not to PUNISH those who have wronged Captain America personally. If John Walker was in Civil War, he would've taken Iron Man's head off at the end instead of having Steve's restraint. John Walker is a mentally unstable jerk of a man who wants to be Captain America for the glory, respect and power. What makes his character interesting and unique from Steve Rogers is that he is flawed and doesn't deserve to be Captain America...because Captain America protects everyone equally and has a good heart.

I think this is a completely ridiculous interpretation of this image. It's not a "black women need to save Kanye" thing. It's a "Kanye is lost because he forgot where he came from & may feel like he can't turn back now" thing. Michelle is symbolic of acceptance and redemption.

Gotta say... #FantasticFour is a triumph of a comic book film. You don't need to have seen a single Marvel film to enjoy this one. You can tell that it was made with a true love and care. MCU Phase 4 is just MCU Phase 1 with a million times more audience expectations. They're both the beginnings of new sagas. Be patient.

Why? Quantumania is a good movie. What I've come to realize about a lot of Marvel fans these days is that they equate unmet expectations with a bad movie. Same thing happened with MoM. It wasn't the MCU's BEST IMO but it's a solid Ant-Man adventure.

Comedy worked for Thor Ragnarok and not Thor Love and Thunder for ONE reason. Jeff Goldblum. The Grandmaster and his planet were themed goofy. So the goofiness worked within the context of the villain. Gorr isn't The Grandmaster. The tone should match the stakes.
