I see this stuff and think of how much easier my life would be if I gave up on what I'm doing and moved to Europe.
Why is it so hard to find or build a place where:
1. The people are deeply American
2. They aren't flaming libs
3. Live a beautiful, non-strip-mall life
America really only has:
A. Vaguely nice communities, walkable, beautiful -- but expensive and populated solely with lib strivers and godless commies
B. Old-school hee-haw Americans of the best sort -- but their entire life takes place at the drive-thru Golden Coral Buccees etc in a hellishly ugly strip mall.
C. Places that used to hit notes 1-3 but are now just crumbling into ruins
D. Places where people live a beautiful, non-strip mall life, and no one's liberal (but everyone's Mexican)
Am I really to believe that red-blooded Americans are just permanently allergic to vibrant community, walkable villages, regular get-togethers, good architecture, and towns that are built for human beings instead of cars?
Why is it only commies, Mexicans, and euros that seem to get this? Why do so many Americans pride themselves on living an auto-based, ugly, isolating strip-mall kind of life?
