Germany: "Cash only. We only take cash. No cards please." But we won't put ATMs anywhere convenient, like train stations, supermarkets, near shops, tram stops etc. For a cash-focused country, why can't I ever find an ATM? Except those dodgy Euronet ones.

It’s one of the most ridiculous things about living in Germany. If I rent somewhere, I expect a kitchen. It shouldn’t be an add-on. It’s freaking essential to live there.

Whyyy do German people like to be hot? What is so wrong with being cooled down? Every air-con here is put on at the lowest setting, the taps in bathrooms run warm, and it’s a battle to receive ice in your drinks. Where does this fear of being cool come from? Does anyone know?

Often in Berlin, a restaurant visit can be let down by the service. Food is delicious, the space looks great, there's so many pros, but the wait staff are ill equipped to handle a full restaurant, creating frustration and delays. I start to question if I want to return again...

It's become clear why Germans get so many annual leave days. Not for work/life balance, it's for work/life/admin balance. The energy & time needed here to do simple admin, and any communications related to it, is soul-destroying. After nearly 10 yrs, I'm exhausted. Anyone else?

This notion that we all must work the same way (e.g. 9-5) is designed to monitor people & keep the status quo. I've learned: this format does not work for me. I discovered a better way - remote, structured flexibility, and the ability to rest when I need it. "Work like a lion" 🦁
Replying to @SahilBloom
Work Like a Lion Most people are not wired to work 9-5. Modern work culture is a remnant of the Industrial Age—long periods of steady, monotonous work. If your goal is to do inspired, creative work, you have to work like a lion. Sprint when inspired. Rest. Repeat.
