Reverse cheating story.
I had been hearing that the local Atlanta game was getting big. People winning/losing $30-40k a night, playing 4 nights a week. I made a few calls and was able to give up 25% of my action and got in the game. The game was $25-50 plo w/ optional straddles.
Fast forward about 12 hours and I’m $70k in the game with about $12k in front of me. Get allin with a wrap vs a set and obv win the flip.
Another 12 hours later we are still playing 3 handed and I’ve turned it around, I have $210k in front of me, for a profit of $140k
The table is kinda messy, the credit pad, a couple decks of cards and all the chips that previous players had cashed out were covering one end. The 3 of us were seated at the other end in the 1,2 & 4 seat.
One player got up, grabbed one of the other decks (that we weren’t playing with) and says “wtf is this? I know what these are!” It was an rfid deck w the barcodes on the edges.
at this point, I WAS THE ONLY WINNER in the game. The deck was planted there somewhere along the way, I was too tired to notice. I count my chips and leave, thinking this has nothing to do with me, they can sort it out
After a couple weeks of back and forth, the game runner said he can’t pay me because no one will pay off. We’ve come to the conclusion that you were the one cheating.
Luckily there was one honorable guy that knew it was all a scam and paid me $31k that he lost.
I always knew I had to look out for being cheated, I never knew to beware of being accused of cheating and stiffed!
Moral of the story….Home games are bad
