Iβll never understand the vitriol of these comments. They provided a helpful message in a polite way. Not everyone will notice things immediately, and this person is clearly an ally trying to help them.
Unpopular opinion, but this isnt good discourse. The moment we reduce ourselves to making fun of someoneβs appearance, we turn legitmate clashing of ideas into pissing contests. We attack his ideas, and thatβs good, but we shouldnt also ad hominem and act like the former makes up
That's the funny thing about words. Common words can be used by bad people, but using those words yourself does not make you inherently bad. If it did, then most of the words in our language would already be tainted
Usually their argument goes 'You're assuming minorities are helpless and infatilizing them, that makes you the racist' as if recognizing material reality is somehow a slight
This is almost word for word a line from Nazi propaganda, even with the exact same amount. Smells badly of doublespeak to me.
They couldβve just said βautistic people need special support that can be unafforable for some familiesβ and avoided the nazi invoking.
Thereβs kinda a layer of sexism to this too. Their argument is:
Running an enterprise = boss
Running an enterprise while being sassy = girlboss
As if being a girl intrinsically means youβre sassy. Itβs just propping up late century stereotypes with modern words.
