Today I turn 30. At 18, I had a clear plan: by 30, I'd be a millionaire. I'm not. Not even close. Instead, I have a company I built from zero. A (insanely talented and cool) team. Projects I'm proud of. And the freedom to do my own thing, something 25-year-old me wouldn't have dared to even hope for. And yet I keep catching myself thinking: "Once I hit the next milestone, then the good life starts." That's the lie I've been telling myself for years. Because life doesn't happen at the next milestone. It happens in between. On an ordinary Tuesday. Playing basketball in the sun before the next meeting starts. Over dinner with friends. The last few months might have been the happiest of my life, and I almost missed it because my head was already on the next goal. So that's what I'm taking into my 30s: keep the ambition, but stop pushing happiness to "later." I've told myself that before and never managed it. This time I'm actually going to try.
Turning 30 tomorrow. The last few weeks were intense. Came back from hiking to a mountain of work. That's also why I've been quiet here on X. But I want to make my last day in my 20s count. Here's the plan: 🎥 Recorded a video for my future self. How I think, how I feel, right now. A time capsule. I think I'll make it a regular thing. A video diary of sorts. 🥊 Stepping into an MMA gym for the first time. Never done it before. 💬 First session with a private English teacher online to improve my English. 📋 Had a full day of internal team meetings. 🎓 And taught a class as an instructor. My little side I still do for fun. Not a bad way to close a chapter. In general, I am really proud of how I turned my life around in my 20s.

I quit my 9-5 job last week. 🫡 1 year of running my agency + building products/websites in the nights & weekends paid off. Still can't quite believe it. For the first time in my life, I followed through with something. ♥️ PLEASE do yourselves a favour & finally start!
I FINALLY did it. 🥹🥹🥹 I quit my day job. Today was my last meeting and it still feels surreal. 😳 From this moment on, I'm all in. Full-time entrepreneur. 🚀 My main focus will be @featherflowtech. The long nights after work, the weekends spent building instead of resting - they weren't easy. They were hard. But looking back now, it was all worth it. 🙏🏾 Working two full-time jobs made me exhausted, unfocused, and barely sleeping. I couldn't go on like this. 😵‍💫 Now I feel free. I admit it's scary. I have almost no runway, and doubts are creeping in. A voice in my head asks, "Am I stupid?" But still, it feels like the right choice. Because deep down I believe in myself. I'm betting on myself, on my vision, and on the Januverse. 🌌 I'm reaching for the stars. I'm ready. ♥️

Today, I turn 29. I’ve just come out of the craziest year of my life. I’m now living the life that I would have called a dream life just a year ago. ♥️ A year ago, I was in my first full-time job, trying to build my agency, FeatherFlow, on the side. I had no idea what I was doing, but this time, I didn't give up. I used to start a lot of things but always quit when they got hard. Not this time. Six months ago, I quit my job. I had no safety net and no steady income from my agency. But I did it anyway. Why? Because I had nothing to lose. It felt right. For the first two months, I was really nervous about my decision. Now, six months later, I can say: It was the best decision of my life!! I’m so glad I didn’t listen to my mom or anyone else. Everyone told me: ➤ "Just work a few more years before going full-time with your business." ➤ "Save up at least a year's worth of expenses first!" But I didn’t listen. Today: ➤ I make multiple times more per month than I did at my job! ➤ Other people are making a living off FeatherFlow’s revenue. ➤ I’m working on exciting and fulfilling projects! I’m tapping into my potential! I'm doing things that, not long ago, I felt were too big for me. I’m deeply grateful. From the bottom of my heart. I’m living the life I once prayed for.

Tough year? Definitely. Tougher me? Absolutely. Health battles, weak immune system, a surgery and a challenging recovery post-surgery. 🏥🚑 Lost my driver's license. 🚗 2 Job changes, with a new one delayed by an infection caused by the surgery, leading to tight finances. 📉 Summer brought a bank hack, thousands of € lost, and a tough wait for reimbursement. 📉 My backpack, with my laptop, hundreds in cash, my keys, expensive care products, and more stolen. My whole life was in there. 📉 Few weeks ago a painful family loss to cancer. . . But the year wasn't all bad. Through all the struggle, I have grown. 📈 Almost got expelled from my study program, but a kind professor's help keeps me on track for my graduation in two months. 👨🏾‍🎓 Embraced freelancing. Some months, earnings were 3X my regular job. 💹 Founded a small Software MVP Agency with @FeatherFlowTech. 🧑🏾‍💻🧑🏽‍💻🧑🏻‍💻 Started writing, built an little audience, gaining 1.6k+ Twitter followers and 50+ newsletter readers. ✍️🏾👥 Found love. 2024, I'm ready. Resilience will always carry me.

Hi, I'm Janu. 👋 28 years old and from Germany. 🇩🇪 My parents are from Sri Lanka (Tamil)! 👉 Studied Computer Science and have a 9-to-5 as a product manager now 👉 Besides my day job, I grew my agency @featherflowtech from 0 to $15k/month this year, building on my years of freelancing experience during my studies. 📈 👉 Started building my own products. 🌱 Notably @BoilerplateHub, which I launched on ProductHunt last Saturday (I've already shared plenty about THAT drama!) Just closed $50k worth of MVP projects in the last 5 days. 🤯 For my product development agency, FeatherFlow. Both projects cover the full process: ✅UX discovery ✅UI design ✅Development That means $18k revenue locked in just for this month. With other gigs and projects, I’m already past $23k revenue for this month. And a $10k deal is on the edge of closing. It’s been a wild week! And I’m incredibly grateful. 🙏🏾🙏🏾♥️ When I quit my job 6 months ago, I wouldn’t have imagined this happening so soon. But this is exactly what I’ve been building toward. A lean studio, working with great founders, shipping great products, and getting paid for it. Let’s go! @FeatherFlowTech is entering the next level!

This tweet earned me about $30k 🤯 At the beginning of the year, I casually wrote the tweet without expecting much. Before I knew it, my phone was lighting up - it had gone viral. It appeared on Reddit, blogs, and countless other platforms. People found it hilarious while others criticized it; it even started political debates. I felt anxious because I lost control over the tweet. Influential people interpreted it in various ways, and I couldn't do anything about it. Then something incredible happened. My agency's calendar filled up with discovery meetings. At that time, my agency was new, and I had few clients - none that paid well. From these meetings, I secured a high-paying client who then recommended my agency to another high-paying client. 💰 In total, this brought in about $30k - a sum that used to take me over 20 months to earn. 💸 Thank you, dear Internet! 🙏

I JUST BOUGHT featherflow.com for $1250!! 🥰 THANK GOD I DIDN’T LISTEN TO YOU GUYS!!! Everyone was screaming at me to buy featherflow.com for $5k. I waited. I negotiated. Him: $5k → Me: $800 → Him: $2.5k → Me: $1.2k → Him: $1,250. Deal. Now it’s mine. No more ugly hyphen. No more “Feather Flow” confusion. Just a clean, beautiful domain… and $3,750 still in my pocket.
I have the chance to buy featherflow.com but the owner is asking for $5k 😭😭😭 I hate our current domain, feather-flow.com, because people keep mistaking it for Feather Flow instead of FeatherFlow, and it looks ugly af.

The coolest part of this year wasn't escaping my 9-5. It was meeting amazing makers, entrepreneurs, builders, and creatives. I met some in person - one here in Germany 🇩🇪 & several in Lisbon 🇵🇹 I was always jealous of my friends at fancy private business schools, surrounded by future founders. Meanwhile, I was surrounded by those pursuing corporate careers. Build In Public and X gave me the opportunity to build my own network of founders. ♥️ Here's to many more meetings with great people next year! 🫶🏾 @that_igor_ @eter_inquirer @pseudokid @PeteTheSEO @fullstackmiguel @sir__fox @Vitor_pvsoares @DevelNeves @andrecasaldev @lintreadertim @tseringredmond @Zivrith @TheCustomerGuy @BusMark_w_Nika @sudopaeg @JoschuaBuilds @sergeynazarovx @robin_faraj @eliasstravik @moloneymike @soulblissX @onlinedopamine @pxue @zalkazemi @TekDiverse @DhairyaPurohit @heyitsmy3 @httpdeals_ @chis_anen @hiradary @alameencodes @itsshayanali @AntoineLevy27 I have tried not to forget anyone. FeatherFlow made over $39k in revenue in just 24 days. 🤯 In a few days, another $9k will land, pushing us to $48k in under 30 days. I had to run the numbers three times. I couldn’t believe it myself. No growth hacks. Most indie hackers dream of shortcuts: Post something controversial. Go viral. Watch the $$$ roll in. No customer calls. No awkward conversations. Just dopamine from likes. But the real money is in talking to people. Building trust. Growing a network. Closing B2B deals. 10 DMs >> 100,000 views. The ROI of relationships destroys virality. Every single time.

I turn 28 today. Last year was the most turbulent and crazy year of my life. A year ago, I was a broke as hell and a long-term student. Who wanted a lot but couldn't get anything done. I felt powerless. My body went on strike. ADHD paralyzed me. But then... Suddenly a lot of things came together... The rocket that I had been trying unsuccessfully to ignite for 10 years suddenly went off! 🚀 ✅ I finished my Bachelors. ✅ Started using Twitter professionally and built a small audience. ✅ Founded FeatherFlow and scaled it to 15k+ monthly revenue. ✅ Got an amazing job as a Product Manager. And that's only the beginning. Thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way. ♥️🙏🏾

1 year on X and it has CHANGED MY LIFE! 🤯 ➤ From 0 to 3600+ followers in a year. ➤ From a veery unhappy long-time student, earning $1.3k/m to running a $10-15k/m MVP agency, alongside a 9-5. ➤ Built a directory that made thousands of $. ➤ Launching my first real SaaS soon. ➤ Planning to quit my 9-5 PM job next year. A year ago, I was surrounded by 100% people pursuing traditional corporate careers. Now, I'm FRIENDS with talented, creative entrepreneurs! It feels like a dream. They've lit a fire in me, teaching me things I wouldn't have learned in 10 YEARS otherwise. Your environment makes a MASSIVE difference! This last year has been a rush, and I know the next one will be even crazier. All this, and the courage to do it, I owe to the people of X. Special thanks to those who had a HUGE impact: 💙 @mehdi_khoudali introduced me to Indie Hacker X 💙 @pxue taught me how to run an agency 💙 @eliasstravik showed me marketing 💙 @eter_inquirer gave me courage to make quitting 9-5 a fixed goal 💙 @tseringredmond & @PeteTheSO taught me SEO 💙 @Dev_AbdulHaseeb watched my back And so many more who've supported me 💙💙💙 @pseudokid @zalkazemi @d4m1n @nafetswirth @jaypy_build @snazarofff @PLBompard @praisebuilds @BusMark_w_Nika @_Ayu5h @vidmshariful @iamsaravananar @BijouConcierge @sudopaeg And 100s of others I couldn't possibly mention everyone. 💙💙💙💙💙 Thank you ALL for changing my life! 🙏

I don't talk much about my agency, FeatherFlow, these days. Most of what we do is client work, so I can’t share too much. And honestly, I’ve always felt a bit weird posting project revenues, especially when some of our clients follow me here. But behind the scenes, a lot is moving. @FeatherFlowTech is starting to gain serious momentum. ♥️ My goal: Hit a $30k-40k/month (not MRR) before the end of June 😳 And right now… it’s actually looking possible 🥹

An open letter to @ProductHunt: Last Saturday, I launched @boilerplatehub on PH. My quirky launch video on X got 40k+ impressions (and counting!), and I received lot of votes and support. Yet, I wasn't featured, leaving me feeling crushed after weeks of preparation. This experience made me reflect on how PH could better support the indie hackers who form the backbone of your platform. Here are 3 thoughts: 1. Clearer, more consistent featuring criteria: The decision to feature products shouldn't feel arbitrary. This year, a boilerplate directory similar to mine was featured (even winning a badge), while mine wasn't. Transparent guidelines would help creators understand what to aim for and reduce frustration. 2. Earlier notification about featuring decisions: Creators invest significant time and resources in their launches. I spent 4 weeks promoting, creating content, and even producing a launch video – all as a solo maker with a 9-to-5. Knowing my featuring status earlier would have allowed for better resource allocation. Consider notifying creators well in advance (especially when they schedule weeks in advance). 3. Reconnecting with the indie hacker community: There's a growing sentiment that PH is losing touch with its roots. The platform doesn't feel as warm and collegial as it once did. Many creators feel undervalued, despite being the lifeblood of the community. These suggestions come from a place of appreciation for what Product Hunt represents. I want to see the platform thrive and continue to be the go-to place for exciting product launches. Let's make Product Hunt great again for makers and creators. Your platform has the power to make dreams come true – let's male sure it continues to do so for all types of makers. PS: Crazy, Red Product Hunt Cat - I still love you and will always love you!!😍

No. I dared to show a different side of myself. A few were surprised by my launch video and said it had made me more relatable. A couple even mentioned that it made them more invested in my future launches & work. I have been noticed. These words have motivated me immensely to ship even more in the future. I have become a Teacher for Software Engineering 👀 ✅ Only 3-10 hours per week 😍 ✅ Completely remote 😍 The amazing part is that this teaching income covers all my bills. Even my business bills. This gives me endless runway for my businesses. I no longer have to worry about paying myself next month. I can finally think like a business owner instead of focusing on personal finances. PERFECT! What do you think?

Indie Hacking is NOT dead. Shipping fast is NOT dead. What happened to Marc Lou shouldn't be an excuse for you to procrastinate. Shipping quickly to get quick feedback is still the way to go. But MVP = Minimal Scope, not MVP = Minimal Quality. Security gaps are not tolerable. Shipping shit is not tolerable. But overengineering is still a disease that you have to fight with all your might.

Und für alle diese Bereiche, muss man "Coding" verstehen. Das ist so wie zu sagen "Es gibt jetzt Taschenrechner, bringt euren Kindern kein Addieren und Subtrahieren bei. Lieber Algebra."

10 months ago I was a long-term student loser😔 Today → I run an agency and a directory alongside my 9-5 🚀 I am even building my next (secret) product. But how? 👇 6-7 AM - Gym 7-9 AM - Working on Products (like @BoilerplateHub) 9-5 PM - Day Job 5-6 PM - Relax 6-10 PM - Agency Work (@FeatherFlowTech) On weekends 50% Agency Work, 50% Products. It all started with posting on X. I'm not a genius. I'm not super lucky. But I REALLY want it and put in the work everyday. And you can too! ✅

Just had my FIRST real life meet with Indie Hackers! 😍 I had soo much fun. They showed me around Lisbon 🇵🇹 and we had exciting conversations. It's rare that I can talk to like-minded people and smart minds like @fullstackmiguel and @sir__fox. I've been part of #buildinpublic for almost a year and this was my first real life meeting. @sir__fox has sold his genetics startup and is now exploring new ideas for his next startup. Really loved listening to his thoughts. He is very well-spoken and know how to articulate his ideas. Only one of his domains is... weird. @fullstackmiguel just started out with Indie Hacking but does an awesome job here on X. He built a directory for Pay once Software to learn the ins and outs of SEO and Marketing. I had a really great evening with you guys. Thanks for your great company and the conversations! 💪🏾

I started to hate it. Redesigned it. 🪄 Now even a new profile picture. For the first time in 1.5 years!! 😁 What do you think?
It was about time! Now that a new era has begun in my life, it's time for a proper rebranding! 🔥 (Done by the wonderful @denizdoingstuff) It's less playful and more simple. It may have lost some of its character, but it looks more professional and more high-quality. What do you think? 🤔

Entrepreneurship is about planting seeds. That's something I learnt recently. You try things. You build projects. You send messages. You network. You put your ideas into the world. Each one is a seed. Sometimes you plant a big, expensive seed. You give it time. You give it care. And nothing grows. 😢 That can be frustrating. But it's part of the process. Other times, you plant a tiny seed and forget about it. You move on. Life keeps going. Then, months later, something beautiful happens. That little seed turns into a tree full of fruit. It surprises you. And it feels amazing. Keep planting. Not every seed will grow. But some will. And those are the ones that make it all worth it.

I felt like a celebrity yesterday. 😳 I was on two different podcasts. 🎙️ Funny coincidence: @Chis_Anen and @hiradary both invited me on the same day. Usually people ask me to do an interview for their newsletter or podcast every 2-3 months. Two on the same day is veeery unusual. That's why at first I thought it was a new scam or something lol. But I really really enjoyed chatting with both of them and am excited about the outcome. Thanks for having me guys! 🫶🏾

I created a $0 Twitter Bot for @BestPasteis!! It looks for mentions of certain keywords like "Lisbon", and uses AI to reply, while mentioning bestpasteldenata.com. For $0 🤯 How? I used a website to turn the X search with the keywords to a RSS feed. I wrote a Python script, which looks for new entries in the RSS feed. When it finds new entries, the script uses the free tier of the Gemini API, to generate a reply. Then, the script uses the free tier of the X API to post the generated reply.

Managing 4 client projects right now simultaneously at @FeatherFlowTech. And it's FUN to run this business. I prayed for days like this. I am so fcking thankful! ♥️ Delivering the highest quality for clients to attract more high quality clients. FeatherFlow is a Premium Product Development Agency. Next milestone → $40k/month in steady revenue by year’s end. Let’s go. I want to make $500k in revenue next year.

This is the JANUVERSE 🚀 Right now, it has three planets. FeatherFlow is my MVP Agency, which makes $10k-$15k a month. @BoilerplateHub almost crossed $2k in revenue. Last week a very tasty Dwarf Planet was born with @BestPasteis Two other planets are being born. There’s a secret SaaS project. I’m deep into finishing the MVP right now. And then there’s another mystery project, but it’s not software… 😉 The Januverse co-exists with the Universe 9-5, but it plans to explode. Piece by piece, it’s all coming together.
