An interesting note from State Softball … when Independence pitcher McKenzie Hupke threw her no-hitter vs. Denison-Schleswig, she joined her Mom, Heather, as what we believe to be the only mother-daughter combo to throw no-hitters at the state softball tournament ... 1/2
We saved our National Girls & Women in Sports Day post for today! A historic day for IGHSAU & girls wrestling in Iowa! Day 1 of the inaugural IGHSAU State Tournament begins in 1 hour! #IowaGirl

Thanks to all that were a part of a great week of high school softball. Special “Thanks" to the fine folks of Fort Dodge. We appreciate the hospitality and hard work the city displays to make this such a great tournament for the last 48 years.

As we get set to crown three champions today on Fort Dodge, we also remember coach Larry Niemeyer. Coach (and his family) were fixtures at Rogers Park for many summers. The IGHSAU send its’ condolences to Gwen, Nancee, Noreen, Nick and Natalie along with their families.
What's good today? This...this is very, very good!
With the start of the stream being down yesterday, we didn't want you to miss Linn-Mar's Lavie Mzuma singing the National Anthem!
If you are attending a regional softball game Saturday, thank your umpires.
Many of them are traveling to two different sites to work two different games to get all of our softball games played. Today's weather demonstrates just how important officials are to high school activities and how we need more of them.
The IGHSAU is saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Christine Grant. Iowa is recognized as one of the leaders in the advancement of Title IX in women’s athletics and Dr. Grant was on the frontlines in that movement. We extend our condolences to her family and friends.
