In August 1837, Arthur Wills Blundell Hill, Lord Hillsborough, married the Hon. Caroline Frances Stapleton Cotton. The celebrations at the Fort were attended by 4000 guests, lasted 5 days and resulted in the deaths of 13 people from alcohol poisoning! bit.ly/HillsHistory
11 weeks on from closing, we are now progressing our plans for gradually reopening the Castle and Gardens.
