Ministry of Defence soars high with an astounding ₹1 Lakh Crore recorded in GeM Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) since the inception of the portal!
In the current financial year alone, @DefenceMinIndia has awarded transactions worth approximately ₹45,800 Crore through the GeM platform. Over 5.47 lakh orders have been placed on GeM by 19,800+ Defence buyers spread across the country.
Nearly 50% of the total orders have been awarded to MSEs, aligning with GeM's core value of maximising social inclusion in public procurement market and bolstering India's economic growth towards self-reliance.

The Government e Marketplace (GeM) and the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the EPFO Foundation Day event held on 1st November 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, in the presence of Hon’ble Minister of Labour & Employment, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya.
The MoU was exchanged between Shri Ajit B. Chavan, Addl. CEO- GeM and Shri Ramesh Krishnamurthi, Central Provident Fund Commissioner (CPFC), EPFO.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone towards enhancing transparency and ensuring compliances of the Acts in manpower outsourcing services on GeM.
Through this partnership, GeM and EPFO will work together to enable system-level integration that facilitates monthly verification of provident fund contributions by service providers, thereby ensuring compliances of the Acts.
