Prayers up for Brock Sell as he heads in for surgery tomorrow. Heart broken for him because I know he worked so hard for this season, but I know he will come through stronger for this challenging time.
Congrats and good luck this week to Glenwood Activities Director Jeff Bissen. He is one of eight finalists for the NHSACA Athletic Director of the Year at the NHSACA National Convention in Lincoln this week. This honor is well deserved! Thanks for all you do @GlenwoodRams!
I just received word from Caleb Sanders’ mom that South Dakota State has decided not to redshirt him. Look for him (#99) playing against the Iowa State Cyclones this Saturday! @glenwoodrams
Congrats to Coach Loeffelbein on his last day as a teacher and a job very well done! Coach has made a huge positive difference in the lives of thousands of students. I’m very thankful he will continue to impact our football program going forward. Enjoy your last day Coach!
So pumped to have Matthew Cornick be a Captain for our game against tomorrow! He’s a difference maker and always brings energy to the group. Thanks for inspiring me and so many more Matt!
Congratulations to Coach Schulte, pictured here with his wife Pam and kids Nathan and Jordan, for being selected as IFCA junior high football coach of the year! They were recognized tonight at the 3A Championship game. Thank you Coach and family for all you do for Glenwood!
Rain pouring down outside and for the first time in 19 years of coaching football, I’m not worried about ruining the grass at camp tonight! Thank you Glenwood for our awesome complex and field turf!
Congrats @GlenwoodBBB Coaches and players! Thanks for an awesome journey and all the pride you have brought to our community! That was fun! Who’s going to do it next?
We will wear these helmet stickers the rest of the season in loving memory of @TravisSchoening@GlenwoodZone. Travis mastered the habit of servant leadership and he made a positive difference in the lives of so many of us. We will miss him dearly.
Still hurts that it’s over, but still grateful for the chase/journey with these guys, the memories & entertainment they brought our community, & the pride & excellence they have brought to our district and program over the years. Well done & thank you, class of 2020 FB seniors.
Not the ending we wanted but proud of what @GCHSFB accomplished this year! Thank You seniors for a great 4 years! Thanks for always representing @GCHSFB with class!
Congrats to Coach Curt Schulte for being chosen by the Iowa football coaches association as junior high coach of the year! Thanks for doing a great job year after year coach! You are a difference maker!
Burning of the Shoe 2019 in the books. Love my team and especially these seniors. So proud of their growth and resilience over the years. Thankful for their faith and care for each other and the program.
Hard to say goodbye to @coach_woodrow, who’s moving tomorrow. He’s loved Glenwood Football all his life and has sacrificed a lot for players over the last 20 years as a coach. We love and thank you coach Woodrow. I know you’ll always bleed Black and Gold.
Former Shenandoah head football coach Bryan Diekmann and his wife Heather have resigned their positions at Shenandoah in order to accept jobs in the Glenwood Community School District. #kmasportskmaland.com/sports/diekmanns…
Last night, Zach Carr broke Kolten Wilwerding's program record for yards passing and passing completions in a season! Also, John Palmer broke Mavrick Decker's record for receiving yards in a season! 4 good players who have played on some really good teams!
I’m always pumped on Saturday mornings this time of year, but even more so today knowing we get to practice at this big, safe, and beautiful facility on Monday! Thank you @GlenwoodRams@GCSDSUPT, @GlenwoodYAC, and all of Glenwood Community Schools! #RamsUnited
Proud of this team, and especially our seniors. They showed grit, heart and servant leadership all year. Left the program in a better place. Made the final 8, and the only the 3rd team in program history to win a playoff game.
Love these guys.
Congrats to Coach Loeffelbein on his Class 4A Assistant Coach of the Year Recognition yesterday in Des Moines! Very much deserved! Also thanks to Mrs. Loeffelbein for all her support and sacrifice for the program. Two difference makers!
Congrats @GlenwoodVB on clinching a share of the H-10 championship tonight! Thanks for the entertainment and pride you bring our community. Also thanks for the example you set on and off the court for little ones like this!
I’m proud of the way our guys finished last night & controlled their response. Seniors, thanks for the entertainment & positive impact you gave our community. You’re on to the next chapter. I know you’ll find success & change the world for good at whatever you set your mind to do
When people realize that the weight room is designed to make it hard, to make us learn how to struggle, how to overcome challenges, how to embrace being uncomfortable, and to encourage each other... then we can be dangerous.
So pumped to have Matthew Cornick be a Captain for our game against tomorrow! He’s a difference maker and always brings energy to the group. Thanks for inspiring me and so many more Matt!
Thank you seniors for all you have given me and our community. This journey is coming to a close, but your accomplishments and successes are just getting started. I can’t wait to see you win in the game of life.
Final: Oskaloosa 48, Waverly-Shell Rock 45. Oskaloosa (23-3) will play Glenwood (24-2) for the 3-A title tomorrow at 6:30. Somebody is going to win its first state championship.
Ram Athletes thinking about not playing a Gwood Spring Sport this year to focus on your club team or work, keep in mind we have arguably the best ever group of girl VB and BB athletes in our school now, and most play a spring sport. Here are a few signed up for track again!
Walking through puddles in the grass this morning before the band contest reminded me how nice it is to have field turf now. Our football and band students’ safety & experience would be a huge concern right now and in the next 2 weeks if we didn’t have turf. Thank you Glenwood!
I love Our Burning of the Shoe Tradition, and I love this team. Very thankful for one more game with these seniors and this coaching staff. Special thanks to Coaches Kruse and Woodrow.
Join me in praying for AJ's family and the AHSTW communities. EVERYONE please know you are valued and needed here. If you are ever thinking otherwise, let me or someone else know so we can get you some help. Let's all look out for each other and keep this from happening again.
Was asked to share from Facebook. Click on the imagine for the full text. Please keep your thoughts and prayers coming for his friends, family and all who knew him.
I dug up this video of Caleb Sanders squatting 510 on his 16th birthday. He lifted before school and in class most days in high school while also playing FB, Wrestling, and Track and Field. Now he’s a D1 1st team all American and paying for a National title tomorrow at 1!

It’s been a good year, and decade. I’m very thankful to be a part of Ram Nation! Looking forward to making 2020 our best year yet! #DreamBigExecuteSmall
Congrats to Gordon Woodrow and wife Lori on being awarded the Iowa Football Coaches Association Distinguished Service Award Winner today in Des Moines. What a difference maker he has been for our community, including 48 years announcing Track and Field and Football!
I enjoyed seeing our FB players supporting our Ram Family at the Cross Country meet this morning! Congrats to the CC teams on some outstanding efforts! #RamsUnited
Thank you current and past players. I’ve truly enjoyed my years coaching and appreciate all the friendships made over the years. Excited to watch Ram victories in the years to come. #dirtyD
No excuses for some mistakes we made last night, but we have stud competitors on our team who never quit fighting and improving. We will regroup, get better, and we will make this a special week and a special season. Hats off to @IndianolaFB, they are a very good team.
We don’t always realize the influence we have on others. I guarantee you this little guy was watching and thinking about copying these HS guys beyond how they shoot. Thanks to them for setting a good example today!
Carr’s 387 yds passing breaks Coach Grant Stivers’ single game passing yards record set in 2010. Zach also had some clutch plays down the stretch on D. @d2mart @KWhiteFA @DMRegister@bennettblk@nonpareilonline
Zach Carr just put up the best high school offensive performance I've ever seen in 11 man football. He rushed 7 times for 131 yds, completed 14 of 23 passes for 387 yds and 5 TD's...for 518 total yds of sweet smelling offense. Oh. And he broke up some nice passes on D. Wow.
I always feel sick when it’s over, but it seems worse than usual today.
I’m proud of, and thankful for, our team and the journey we shared. Special thanks to our seniors who put their heart and soul into the team goals and finished on empty. We love you guys!
Last nights football loss ended a great 4 year career for our seniors! A big thanks to all the seniors for their years of dedication to @GCHSFB. We are thankful of the football memories you created & appreciate you always representing Glenwood with class by doing the right thing.
“My kids have learned this at the age of 10 and 9. I ask them almost everyday, “who can ruin your day?” They both smile and say “no one.”
No matter what anybody says or does to you today, chose to have a great day.” - David Polluck
We can make it a great day or not. Our choice.
Congrats to Coach Stanley, who received the Don Taft Junior High Coach of the Year award today at the IFCA awards banquet. Thanks for all you and Mrs. Stanley do for Glenwood!
I appreciate all the IAHSAA & media do to support HS FB most of the time, but it’s frustrating that the people who are most in touch with the actual players-the coaches-aren’t the major decision makers about what is best for the athletes.
Last day of school for these dudes! So thankful for them, and I know they will make a positive difference in whatever they commit to do! Thank you guys, much love!
I just spoke with Coach Heitland, the Head Coach of the South for the Shrine All-Star FB Bowl Game. They had a player not be able to attend this week, and in practice Brock Sell has earned an opportunity to play quarterback this Saturday in addition to kicking or punting duties!
So pumped about our team after our scrimmage tonight! A lot of room to improve, but so thankful for the talent, dedication, and character of our players and coaches. Big thanks to all the fans who made the trip! #RamsUnited#BeElite#Family
Glenwood girls 4x200 meter relay was previously (and erroneously) disqualified, but they won an appeal and end up with a fourth-place finish in a time of 1:45.72. Big five points for the Rams.
Shout out to E Hughes. Still recovering and not able to do some things, but shows up every day to weights and other activities and contributes however she can. Servant Leader!
Last rodeo with this guy tonight, at least for this year. Best of luck to @MHSCoachJoyner as he officially leaves for his next stop tomorrow. He has been a great asset to me and our district in many ways, including taking up umpiring with me, and he will be missed.
Saluting Glenwood Ram alumni Trevor Stanley, Kohen Watson, & Tanner Maxwell today—now deployed! The elite attitude, effort, discipline, & resilience of these guys made our program better & they continue to serve & make a difference! Proud of & thankful for your service! #Heroes
