According to the
Niezalezna.pl news website, the recent attempt by the new Polish government to take control of the Polish Press Agency (
@PAP_eng ) was a precisely planned operation. Reports about the alleged “Wejście” (eng. entry, takeover) WhatsApp group chat were also provided by journalist Marcin Dobski.
The revelation stems from a photograph of the screen of Marek Błoński’s mobile phone, purportedly taken at the PAP headquarters on the night of December 21-22.
Błoński is a Polish journalist who was picked by the new government to be the new head of the agency.
Marcin Dobski shared the captured screen on the X platform, alleging that the “Wejście” group, comprising figures such as Błoński, new authorities from Polish Radio, and a prominent lawyer, is engaged in discussions and strategic planning for the takeover of public media.
Dobski highlighted a specific message from the chat, quoting, “It [the takeover operation] smells like martial law, but a scream of 50 is better than proof of the government’s helplessness.”
These developments underscore a complex and potentially significant situation unfolding within the media landscape in Poland.
