The DA’s office stated they are “planning to drop charges against the defendant, which is required by law when they are found mentally incompetent to stand trial.”

The harsh reality is that untreated drug addiction and mental illness often make life on our streets dangerous and unpredictable, for the homeless and for the community. True compassion means mandating treatment programs, providing housing WITH sobriety & work requirements for able bodied adults, and stricter enforcement of our laws. We're shelling out $1,705/month for this apartment, only for the tenant to absolutely trash it. How does leadership think this no barriers voucher system will work? Spoiler: It won't.
