With little to no money, no shortcuts, and various hardships at home, Daley trained every single day, (including every Christmas Day!) to be the very best. Against all odds, he became the greatest decathlete in the world and a true legend of British sport. At one point, he held the British, Commonwealth, European, and World Records simultaneously. Daley went on to win two gold medals at the '80 and '84 Olympic Games, competing at the very highest level of sport for over a decade...

From a council house in Notting Hill to Olympic glory. Daley's start in life wasn’t easy – his father was in and out of prison, and his mother worked 16-hour days just to put food on the table. While at boarding school, he found out that his father had been murdered on the streets of London. At 16, he was entered into a decathlon by his coach to fill a team vacancy (having never tried 7 of the 10 events before)... and he won. Daley never looked back.
