I actually like the rule. It’s a great offset to the just touch the goal line for a TD rule. Possession of the ball is crucial to scoring this requires a risk of control to be penalized. It’s a choice.

When it was Prime they sold it off as his shine. When it is coach @HCWillieSimmons they can’t diminish him by claiming shine. He has built a foundations that will outlast flash. That attracts a different player. @FAMU_FB was a stellar program before integration. The @theswac was sending HOF players to the NFL since the 60s. @FAMU_1887 boast academic excellence at a level arguably above larger programs. The only reason we question the success and value of the offerings at FAMU is due to brainwashing that FSU has colder ice and sweeter sugar. We have to stop undervaluing our institutions.

They are treating it like a position not a role. The role of QB makes the position. We have let biomechanics, 7v7, clinics, stats and media drive the market. The reality is we need fullbacks back in the league. We need a legit run game in the league or this will continue. You can get away with living and dying on RPO at lower levels due to the talent variance. There variance in the league is much smaller therefore the advantages of that system are not consistent with the lower levels. So you get a QB that is pure progression and single man reading in a league with 10x complexity due to the individual battles and scouting resources and the player is at a deficit. With no alternative offense and firing coaches in 18 months on the job. Who is really developing QBs today? Trainers not coaches. The leadership is just show biz now. It’s not pure anymore. We need less focus on the things you can teach and more on the things you can’t. On a final note if the mechanics are bad and the intangibles are not there let it go. We are making guys higher draft picks than they should be because they are quarterbacks. There are not 5 first round QBs in most draft classes in history that were decade long stars. Why we think there will be now is beyond me.

The challenge is that the history of HBCU sports and Academica has been lumped into the smaller schools category and it’s not. HBCUs at one point and still today have our best and brightest future leaders and stars. We are behind the big schools and/PWIs because we didn’t have talent. We are behind’ because we were not able to get access to the resources when we had the talent that they are using to get resources from us now. So many students athletes and coaches are benefiting from the sacrifices made at HBCUs for years. We need to acknowledge the value of these institutions and the importance of recognizing that by us first to show the world how to treat us.

These names and coverages were developing over time. Being able to see it and make the right throw at the right time is the difference and playing to maximize your physical gifts. Brett is one the best at throwing hitch and go and in right windows. The contrary will be Tony Romo who has similar reading ability but can’t make the same throws. So I agree with Kurt you can process to maximize your physical ability but your physical ability can only go so far to overcome limited processing ability.

We act like nobody threw off platform throws before him. Or ran before Lamar. Watch Bernie Kosar make difficult throws. The difference is Mahomes wins. He is also in a league absent the number of first ballot HOF QBs that many guys like him faced. I’m not downplaying his ability but we have to stop acting like we just started watching football 10 years ago. Fran Tarkenton ran and threw. Actually led the league in almost passing categories when he retired. He is a mobile QB from way back. The mobile QB is not new. The difference is we still keep hoping one will win a Super Bowl and they just get coaches fired and run off high level skill players.

I coached this player twice in the FCS and FBS Tropical Bowls. He is a stud. Under developed but has all the stuff you want. Plays special teams and is a good guy. I like him at zero tech at 320. I think he can get faster and bigger with an offseason program and a little coaching up. Run and pass stopper and great teammate. Check his @TropicalBowlUSA tape.
