I’d rather pay a nationwide flat per mile tax than the federal 18.4 cents per gallon (gas) and 24.4 cents per gallon (diesel) on top of each state’s different per gallon gas tax (currently 49.4 cents here in WA).
A nationwide per mile tax would also collect $$$ from EVs.
