These dumbasses screaming "Tax the rich" really piss me off. Feels like they are just mad someone else is rich & turn off all critical thinking because of it.
Note to the edge lords that say this:
THINK ABOUT WHERE THAT MONEY GOES - TO THE MURDEROUS, WASTEFUL GOVERNMENT.
You really want to forcefully transfer wealth from individuals to the same org that wages endless wars?
Do you believe the government will suddenly, miraculously do a 180 and start using this newfound money fairly and ethically?
If you pump money into the government they waste it. Or kill people with it. If the United states had high quality, free healthcare, a European style high speed rail system, brilliant public spaces, free high speed internet, and free high quality education that didn't indoctrinate your kids into some fringe sexual orientation, you might have a case to tax the rich. I mean, I'd fight you to the death against it, but at least you would have a platform to argue from.
In the current form of the US government, screaming "tax the rich" is like saying "please keep punching me in the face but this time use brass knuckles."
These economic idiots love this line. They must feel so noble when they say it. It likely gets them laid, albeit by some smelly underarm haired credit card hippy whose only understanding of economics is to borrow from their parents when they run low, as their LGBTQ#§ Free Palestine activist job isn't really paying the bills. Within that lens it's easy to see how they support the current system of governance, which is basically the same grift, but instead of borrowing from parents they rob from your kids. And your kids' kids. See the growing national debt for reference.
Some of the rich are pieces of shit, I'll give you that. Some of those lucky recipients of dynastic wealth will never understand the real world and will always be assholes. But the good rich people built literally everything you love. That car you drive, that delivery service, the device you are reading this on, literally every piece of technology that makes your life better. All made by a rich person.
The "tax the rich" crowd doesn't understand economics one bit. They think money is some cloud instance that falls randomly, and the lucky recipients should share. Now they aren't completely wrong, as 1000 years from now those future humans will laugh (cry) at our current wealth concentrations, but they will live in a far more ethical society, hopefully akin to the ancient Romans where the top 300 wealthiest people had the honor of paying taxes and building great public utilities for the plebs. They would/will spend big and try hard to make their contributions super useful, because we all know what rich people really want - to be loved and respected - which is not something money can directly buy.
Back to the big misunderstanding.
VALUE IS CREATED
It's not random. If someone builds something useful and others find it so useful they pay their hard earned money for it, you have created value. Sometimes a person pays money to someone else for something they can use to do useful things for others, and this value creation starts to snowball. Imagine a farmer buying a tractor to grow crops to sell to a large # of hungry people.
Taxing the value creators to do things like the USA government does, i.e. fund wars, which btw is really just shipping the money to Raytheon who ships the bombs to whatever country we "gave the money to," is a great stopper in that free market value creation cycle. The free market never wants to kill people, but your government is addicted to it.
"Tax the rich" leftists, you can either believe in free market value creation or you can stay retarded, the choice is yours.
