For years we hid behind a whiteboard, loving the way it visually taught but also nervous about negative responses to two gay guys making science videos. Today, we’ve decided to include ourselves more in videos b/c representation in STEM matters and we are also very proud
PLZ just pay taxes so your country can build a reputable education system. I'm so sick of billionaires and rich people thinking they are helping by 'giving to charity' or creating schools NAMED AFTER THEMSELVES!? BEZOS ACADEMY??? HAHAHAHAHA
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is opening the doors of his first preschool, the Bezos Academy.
It's the first location of a network of tuition-free preschools serving children in underserved communities spearheaded by Bezos' philanthropic arm, Day One Fund. cnn.it/2G4qQGm
Thanks to @MKBHD for helping us explain the science of 5G. We used hundreds of research papers to figure out how it works and how it affects your body. We also address the conspiracy theories. Watch it here: piped.video/cw0A9FUTEKE
We’re blowing up on TikTok for saying we’re dating, and everyone is freaking out because they didn’t know!? I guess we should’ve made out more in our climate change videos.
It is cleansing but also very telling that every time we post a video on YouTube about systemic racism we lose thousands of subscribers. The overlap between people interested in science and people with racist ideologies is shocking and hard to explain, but it is real.
We put together a list of the Top 25 Science YouTubers and noticed a few things:
-There's not a single person of colour
-There is only one female (solo) channel
It's a tough conversation, but we need to talk about diversity in science.

FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS: Scientists have created a version of E. coli that eats CO2.
It involved a switch in 11 genes and with more research could lead to a future where bacteria eat CO2 and produce renewable fuels and food.
UGH, WE LOVE SCIENCE!
2019 vs 2009 - a lot has changed, but we fell in love with science and each other back then, and the love is still strong 💪😍 We also left our sweaty, long hair in the past 😂
WE FINALLY GAVE BIRTH! Introducing Diamond Play Button, our first child. Thanks to the 10M+ people who subscribed to our YouTube channel. Science is our fave thing to teach, and you watching makes us able to do what we love. Thnx from the bottom of our hearts, brains and lungs.
REAL PROGRESS ON CLIMATE CHANGE 👏 MAY 👏 NOW 👏 COME!!! The Biden Climate and Environmental Justice plan is V GOOD! Bye Trump, may you no longer ruin our planet
Hi @MrBeastYT this is a little extra inspo! The planet can currently support 2.5 billion added acres of forest without shrinking cities or farms. 282 million acres in America and 193 million acres in Canada. We just need people to help PLANT THEM sciencedaily.com/releases/20…
Hey @noah_schnapp - Heard you were watching our Periodic Table Song to learn the elements! 👐😎 Would love to have you help us explain some science in a video together, if you're up for it! 👨🔬🔬
Sooo being part of a lineup that includes the Obama's, Gaga, BTS and these others miiiight be a bit of a moment for us 😳🙈
Who's ready to celebrate #Classof2020 graduation?
I know how hard the #Classof2020 has worked to make it to graduation, so @BarackObama and I want to give you the celebration you deserve. That's why @ReachHigher and I are teaming up with @Youtube to host a virtual graduation on June 6! RSVP at bit.ly/RHGraduation.
Uhhhh hun, all those "neat random science facts" were built on a foundation of society and political structures that actually supported scientific endeavors.
Don't want to get political? Then you don't get the cute science 🤷♂️
It's Greg's bday today!! 🎂🎉🎈 How'd you all celebrate your quarantine bdays this year? We're hoping to set up a projector and watch some movies in the backyard tonight 📽️🍿 I'm so lucky and grateful to have this goof in my life ❤️ -m
The Spanish Flu likely originated in America (one of the most prominent theories) and is only named the Spanish Flu because they actually reported on it as a neutral country during the war.
None of the others you listed are named after countries.
Spanish Flu. West Nile Virus. Zika. Ebola. All named for places.
Before the media’s fake outrage, even CNN called it “Chinese Coronavirus.”
Those trying to divide us must stop rooting for America to fail and give Americans real info they need to get through the crisis.
LEAVE FOSSIL FUELS IN THE GROUND. Wind and Solar is cheaper and more efficient then oil, nuclear reactors can stay on to fill gaps, make conservation cooler than consumption and maybe we can hope the OCEAN WON’T LIGHT ON FIRE ANYMORE!?
Um, metaphor much! In a normal reaction a substrate binds to an enzyme in the active site. BUT, sometimes a non-competitive inhibitor will bind to an enzyme causing a change in shape that makes the substrate no longer able to bind to the active site of the enzyme.
To all my fellow introverts,
If you've ever been told you need to come "out of your shell" more often, just remember that many animals literally carry shells or shelter everywhere they go, and that some humans are naturally the same.
Bangladesh is the first country to approve golden rice, a genetically modified form of rice fortified with Vitamin A. It will prevent blindness and death a majority of the world.
This is how your mouth pronounces words. It's an international Phonetic Alphabet in English. GO AHEAD, TRY IT! [Tyler Neyens via Reddit/interestingasfuck]
Coronavirus has caused CO2 emissions to fall from lack of travel, industry and transport, but methane emissions to rise from coal mining, caddle production and landfills. Methane is 28x more powerful as a greenhouse than CO2. We can't ignore Climate Change, even if stuck at home!
These water bears can survive extreme temps (absolute zero to 150°C), pressures of more than 6000 atmospheres, and long exposure to the vacuum and radiation of space. They can dehydrate to 1% of their water content and remain alive for an entire decade like that. [Reddit/gifs]
