1. This is the last year of his OKC contract so he didn’t even sign him to that, they just got him via trade and got more assets in that trade.

Brooklyn made that trade win a championship. Boston made that trade to rebuild. Brooklyn became one of the worst teams in the league for YEARS after, and Boston has been one of the best teams in the East for the last couple years now. In no way shape or form did Brooklyn win that

Agreed that Harden is the better player and overall more valuable to most teams, but the Lakers were able to “overpay” for AD because they had the best player in the league by his side. Not every team can put down that type of risk
