@ACPMain doesn't only listen to the concerns of those who serve the disabled—they stand in solidarity with them as well.
On April 28, members of ACP Ontario reached out to CHS workers on strike, organized as CUPE 2073.
These frontline workers specialize in providing critical support for Ontario's Deaf and hard of hearing communities.
Some of the issues they face include:
✅Meager wage increases not keeping up with inflation
✅Understaffing, leading to longer wait times and overbooked interpreters
✅Cut services for their clients
✅Lack of benefits
✅Plummeting moral
The employer claims they cannot increase the salaries of their workers because the CHS does not receive enough public funding, yet the CEO earns 122% more than her predecessor, bringing in $340,000 a year. Workers, meanwhile, have fallen 16% behind inflation since she took over. This huge disparity of salary increases between the worker and employer only shows that the CHS Board of Directors are driven by greed and profits.
We attended their strike, not only for the sake of social investigation but also to share their grievances and get their voice out to the public.

Solidarity with the victorious workers of PCPSPA!
In a cross-state effort with @ACP_Colorado, ACP Utah supplied and joined picket lines in support of the PCPSPA strike. On the other side of the Rocky Mountains, ACP Colorado joined local ski patrol unions to demonstrate outside Vail Resorts headquarters in solidarity.
We are pleased to share that PCPSPA has reached an agreement with Vail Resorts and has concluded their strike. Both ACP Utah and ACP Colorado extend our warmest congratulations on this hard-earned victory.
