My one biggest complaint about how the jambands scene has evolved once it forked away from the Grateful Dead influences is how much it has embraced hyper capitalism. Scalping tickets, buying posters to flip, that sort of behavior was beyond the pale and now it’s kind of normal.

The crowd went insane during SANTOS which itself was surreal, seeing 30k+ people singing and pumping fists for a song that’s under a year old and has no commercial release. But then it inspired Trey to go off and take an amazing solo. It’s so much fun to watch that feedback loop.

Happy 40th anniversary to the first Phish show! We're in the scene so it feels normal for a band to last this long, but - especially with just the one lineup change way back in 1985 - this really is an amazing feat to still be playing, and playing full length interesting shows

Tonight is an important night for me personally. It's my 500th show. Not my 500th Phish mind you but my 500th if you combine the 81 Grateful Dead shows I have seen [1] and Phish. I realized that I was getting close and since the venue I have seen the most shows of both bands

You know, I went to Charleston completely by myself, with no plans to meet anyone. Everyone I talked with there was very friendly and we had great pre-show chats about the music and other bands to check out and the like. It's not hard to meet great people at shows.
