2. 🧑💸 Restaking is when Ethereum stakers delegate their native ETH or LSTs to operators for increased security. EigenLayer allows networks to tap into shared security, making attacks much more costly. Previously, 100 networks with $10M security each had a $10M cost of attack, but now, with EigenLayer, 100 networks can tap into $1B security together, and it's now a $1B cost to attack anyone in the system. 👯👯
3. 👾🤖 These cool new networks run by Ethereum operators are called AVSs (actively validated services). AVSs on EigenLayer can focus on their core competencies and ship faster without the struggle of creating their own network.
In turn, AVSs pay the stakers & operators fees for their contribution, completing the supply and demand cycle of the marketplace. This is why you earn real yields on EigenLayer.
What cool new things can be built because of EigenLayer, you ask?
These 5+ categories of AVSs can now be built/be built much quicker/be built much more robustly via EigenLayer:
1. Rollup services: data availability, decentralized sequencers, fast finality layer, watcher networks, bridges
