Unpopular opinion: running the tech stack of @opensea is really hard and they’ve done an OKish job. In POAP we have a tenth of their traffic and our +20 engineers are constantly facing new threats and problems for which we were unprepared. Web3 is not (yet) for the faint of ♥️

This definitely sounds like me, but I need to make clear that I was just answering why we weren’t worrying about monetization. The drive for building POAP came from a deep desire of seeing Web3 tech adopted at global scale.
I met @worthalter at a hackathon in Bangalore, and I asked him why he's building POAP, how he'll make money from this. This was way back when @poapxyz was just starting out.
He refreshingly said, "I own a lot of ETH. I'll build stuff that'll make my eth more valuable"
