Personal account. Author of UK BLACK: Windrush Waves, Ungodly Sins, and Early Graves (Amazon). Huge supporter of emergency services. Free thinker. Coffee lover.
Policing crime: I've been stopped four times, a low number by some accounts. However, I'd much prefer to be stopped temporarily than stopped permanently by some thug wielding one of the many hundreds of deadly weapons taken off the streets by police each year. Support the Blue!
If you see what they see then you'd cry too: deceased victims of knife and gun crime, domestic violence, road fatalities, terrorism...child exploitation, people trafficking, alcohol and substance abuse...
Let's think about how we can support our Police officers, not break them.
Black people are stopped up to nine times more than white, but it's also true that young black men are five times more likely to be homicide victims by knife or gun crime. Police deserve much more praise than criticism in helping to build healthy, happier and safer communities.
Despite suffering a gruesome stab wound, PC Stephanie Clarke pursued two robbery suspects. Her courage and commitment to her job is typical of policing culture. She has been nominated for a bravery award, and rightly so. Bravo!
Dear Police Officer, thank you for stopping and searching people, regardless of their colour, age, sex, religion, or anything else. Dear parents, what is your child carrying & what company is he keeping? Dear courts, please give stiff, deterrent sentences. All, support the Blue!
Workers striking for more pay is all over the news today, but one group of truly amazing public servants deserving of the biggest pay hike ever are right here in this very photo. They'll never strike, but they shouldn't have to. Support the blue!
Mental Health Week: Police and other emergency personnel are NOT machines. Their stress, fears, tears, and even suicides (2 per month on average) should remind us that there is a human being under the uniform. If you see what they see then you'd cry too! ๐
Hero Met Officer: On hearing a mother screaming for help, off-duty PC Nick Bines sprinted from his family car to revive a toddler and dislodge food stuck in her throat before paramedics arrived. Her mother later posted an appeal on Facebook to locate the PC to thank him. Bravo!
Colin Kaepernick's very first childrenโs book is already an Amazon #1 Best Seller, and its pre-order status was only announced yesterday. In other words, his debut is already a mega hit! No surprise, the 'Different' big kid in me wants a copy. VS
I've had to block a number of the nasty anti-police brigade who appear to welcome the tragic suicide of PC William Sampson, 26, in Sheffield last Friday. We should all be concerned about his loss and the dangerous atmosphere being fuelled by the MSM. Police are NOT the enemy! RIP
This 'kid' was running down the street and dropped and then retrieved this blade. When people moan about stop and search by the Police, tell them that it's better than weeping at yet another teen funeral. Save our streets, support the Blue!
Women will never be safe as long as men behave like this towards them. Truly appalling and sickening conduct by a public figure. msn.com/en-us/news/world/jerโฆ
This Police officer flatly refused, when a so-called you tube auditor demanded that he remove his thin blue line Velcro sticker. I admired the officer's professionalism and patience.
I was stopped twice in my car and it was over in a few minutes. Simple compliance instead of drama! Police are NOT the enemy and nobody is above being stopped.
Not surprised I had to go through this again. Whilst driving home last night 7 armed @metpoliceuk officers stopped me because they thought I was on my phone whilst driving. At their request I pulled over when safe to do so. 1/3
Stop & Search: The police are doing what every responsible parent should be doing to protect their child. Endless knife crime and funerals of dead teens is not the kind of 'normality' that any community deserves. Instead of complaining, support the police & help find solutions.
Five years ago today, 8 people lost their lives and countless more were injured in the horrendous attack at London Bridge and Borough Market. My thoughts are with them. PC Wayne Marques suffered devastating injuries fighting the attackers. Heโs now back at work. Hero!!!
PC Nick Lewis of Nottinghamshire Police selflessly put himself at risk when, on two separate occasions, he successfully rescued two distressed women from dangerous river waters. He has rightly been nominated for his exceptional bravery, a characteristic of British policing.
Two West Yorkshire Police officers who wrestled a knifeman to the ground after he had terrorised a bus full of passengers, have been nominated for the National #PoliceBravery Awards 2022. Well done, PC Tom Swift and PS Mike Watkins, reminders of our many heroes in Blue. ๐๐๐
Tobias Ellwood MP is in the news. He gave mouth-to-mouth first aid to PC Keith Palmer, who had been fatally stabbed in a Westminster terror attack. Four people and the attacker died. 40 others were injured, incl 3 officers. Mr Ellwood, whatever his politics, earned my respect.
Until people who oppose stop and search can offer credible alternatives, let this picture be a reminder of why it is used. No, it isn't the final or only remedy, but weapon carriers should be the ones walking in fear, not the innocent public. Support police, report offenders!
The police were called to a London park on reports of boys with knives. As the officers concluded their search, a woman in the gathering crowd shouted "SCUM BAGS" at them. 30 teens were stabbed to death last year and that's what came out of her shameless mouth. Support the Blue!
USA - Stop & Assist! A Police officer who was shot in a mini-mart hold-up is saved by men, who made tourniquets from their clothes to stem his bleeding. A suspect was also held by the good Samaritans. A rare story of Black communities and Police looking out for each other.
First impressions matter! Lancashire constabulary is reportedly getting rid of their baseball caps and reinstating regular kit inspections. Best wishes to them.
To the ex-Police folk who appear on every media source complaining about the profession that once fed them, you're not helping to make things better for those still serving. If you care, park the old grievances (and book sales!) and help with workable solutions. Thanks๐ค๐๐ซค
I'm not sure who this Police officer is, but his confident smile alone makes a powerful case for more Black talent in blue. There are over 200 different roles in policing and our ethnicity isn't a barrier to any of them - just bring your talent! Smile, we can live our potential!
These are just SOME of the mostly teen faces lost to fatal UK knife and gun crime. It might take 20 inconvenient stops for the police to find one lethal weapon, but their intention is to stop the carnage and save lives. Deadly criminals are the enemy, not our brave police! R.I.P.
A suspended sentence?! Forgive me, but this makes me furious. Anyone who does this kind of damage to a Police officer should see MAJOR prison time and a fine that pays for the officer's medical and ongoing stress-related expenses. My heartfelt sympathy to the officer concerned.
A male who threw scalding water at officers has pled guilty to assault on an emergency worker x 2 and a racially aggravated public order offence. He was sentenced to 26 weeks imprisonment suspended for 2 years, with ยฃ350 and ยฃ150 compensation for the officers involved.
The moment off-duty PC Nick Fox tackled a knife carrier/phone robber on a Hackney street. His courageous commitment to public safety is common in all UK police forces. Be proud in blue!
Workers striking for more pay is all over the news again, but one group of truly amazing public servants, deserving of the biggest pay hike ever are right here in this photo. They'll never strike, but they shouldn't have to.
Expect more to walk away unless things improve.
Yesterday in Leicester Square, London, two Police heroes were viciously attacked and hospitalised. Almost to the day, ten years earlier in Manchester, two angels in blue did not survive their repugnant attacker. Remembering Nicola and Fiona - RIP. Protect the protectors!
I confess to being consciously biased towards the police. They increasingly come from diverse backgrounds, but are united by the same public service values; to protect and serve all with impartiality and integrity. What's not to like? Join them! VS
When people complain about stop and search show them this pic of a blade pulled from the sleeve of a youth who tried to resist. With 28 London teens murdered thus far in 2021, Police officers deserve our praise for taking these deadly weapons off our streets. Support the Blue!
So, Police stop a White man and they're good, but if it's a Black man they're racist? Utter nonsense! Police culture is about preventing criminality and catching those who do, whatever the skin colour, and it's about time that more people said so. Police are NOT the enemy!
This weapon is big enough to justify its very own post code. The police are the only barrier between the carriers of grotesque deadly weaponry like this and innocent members of the public. Stop and Search deals with the symptoms, but parents and society must address the causes.
PC Mason Doyle (Essex Police) pursued a suspect over garden fences. When caught, he bit the PC twice, tried to gouge out his eye, and further assaulted him causing a wall to collapse. Though badly injured, the selfless officer secured an arrest. Another hero in blue, THANK YOU!
I just blocked yet another mindless hater of the police. Honest discourse, yes. Indiscriminate anti-blue prejudice, no! Every police officer is an individual, not a replica of Carrick, Cousens or anyone else who let the service and public down. Remember that or get blocked.
Flashback: Police officers trying to save the life of a stabbing victim. They are often first to render first aid at terrible scenes where lives are at risk, and to put themselves in harms way to protect the public. I post this as a gentle reminder about the good they do - daily!
Disable your bias... perception isn't always fact! This photo shows caring cops supporting and protecting a wounded man. It is rarely reported, but Police officers are often the first on scene to render first aid to victims of weapon crime. Support the Blue!
Now, I'm all for diversity in police recruitment drives, but the best advert is right here in this pic; whatever your race, sexuality, age, gender, or anything else. It's what you CAN DO that makes a good police officer, not who you are! Professional, inspirational... effective!!
'Blueism' - a hatred, prejudice, and bias against men and women of law enforcement. Like racism, it unfairly treats all Officers as one homogenous group; not as unique individuals. Blueism harms communities and helps criminals. Protect the protectors, fairness & dignity in Blue!
Many many thanks to police officers who strive to keep local communities safe at Easter and every day of the year - 24/7. Police are NOT the enemy; criminality is! Let's never let the minority of bad officers blight the fantastic work done by the vast majority. Support the blue!!
PC Jesse Karanga started out as staff in the mailroom at Lincolnshire Police HQ, with dreams of helping people as a detective. In 2015 he finally landed a position in CID. He is also a family liaison coordinator and Fed rep. With commitment, dreams do come true. Well done, Jesse!
We can choose our own news stories, rather the ones being hyped by media sources. I'm choosing to remember late PC William Sampson who took his own life earlier this year. The loss of two Officers per month to suicide is a much neglected news story, in my personal view. RIP
This is so sad. That 'lone policeman' will probably be willing to risk his life to save yours. As for risks to children by predators, from my own direct experience, schools have not been immune from their own cases. Don't demonise an entire profession!

Originally from South London, Cambridgeshire's PC Price Awuah said some friends "raised eyebrows" when he became a police officer, a job he describes as โone of the best in the worldโ. Wishing him and everyone in the national policing community safe and satisfying careers.
Police are NOT the enemy! The only people who are implacably hostile towards the selfless public servants in blue are the ignorant, aggrieved, criminal, or stupid. No one is saying the profession is perfect, but let's help to improve and not attack it.
PC Wayne Marques, recipient of the iconic George Cross, was left with horrendous injuries as he fought off the 2017 London Bridge terror attackers. PC Leon McLeod, recipient of the Queen's Gallantry award, selflessly cared for the injured. These fine men are role models in Blue.
Recognised for his โcourageous actionsโ, bodycam footage shows Met PC Tony Ruth climbing through the window of an Uxbridge apartment to rescue three children trapped in a smoke-filled room. A further reminder of the dominant high quality of people in blue. Let's remember that!
If and when I get stopped again by the Police, I'm going to respectfully comply and remember that they have the best intentions. They're not the enemy, dangerous criminals are! We help ourselves when we comply and assist the Police with information, if we can. Support the blue!
I disagree with Ricardo's decision to fail to stop and bashing me won't change that. The entire incident appears to be another oh so tired police-bashing exercise. There are of course genuine cases of racism, but this isn't one of them in my view. Support the Blue!
They get spat at, hit with rocks, bitten, verbally abused, blamed for disgusting racist, sexist, & corrupt behaviour of Officers they've never met...even killed. Yet they still show up daily to selflessly protect and serve you and me. Police Officers are just human, support them.
I have had to block yet another anti-Police idiot. In case there is any doubt, I have always supported the blue and don't see that changing. Considered or fair criticism, yes, but relentless hateful tweets about our Police men and women will not be tolerated on my page. Trust me!
'Young black people carry weapons to defend themselves against Police'. What?!! This bewildering claim tarnishes the protective intentions of stops and demonises good Officers. 30 London teens got slaughtered in 2021 and you think Police are the enemy?! news.sky.com/story/young-blaโฆ
ACAB (All Cops Are Bast**ds). Patsy, really?! Yvonne Fletcher, Keith Palmer, Andrew Harper, Matt Ratana...Graham Saville and many others were heroes to the people they died to save. Your post is hurtful, unkind, and untrue. PLEASE reflect and do the right thing: hit delete! ๐
To all the people who will spend the next 12 months moaning about the police, just cork it! I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all the men and women of the #ThinBlueLine and other emergency services a safe and happy New Year. THANK YOU for doing your selfless best. ๐ฉต๐๐
Arrested: Well done to the organisers and the Met for their wise decision to deny Tommy Robinson his request to participate in today's peaceful antisemitism march in London. His arrest was absolutely the right thing to do. The world needs peacemakers, not hate mongers.
An MP who's been an unrelenting and ferocious critic of Police officers has been handed a suspended prison sentence for threatening an acid attack. No good Police officer, the VAST majority, should ever allow themselves to feel tarnished by the words of any convict. Be proud!
I've had to block a number of anti-police fools, and the year is still very young. Legitimate concerns will always be respected, but anyone attempting to use my page to indiscriminately bash or tarnish the police will be unceremoniously blocked. Take your hate of blue elsewhere.
Thanks kiddo! Just to clear up any doubt... Give credit and support where it's deserved: Well done to the Met Police Officer concerned with this stop. Yes, THE MET POLICE!!! Pssst, notice the inclusive brail on the ID?
True blue: This Sgt Matt Ratana photo would never have made the media if he hadn't been killed. Fact is, there are many positive interactive relationships between police and communities that the public never hear about. Yes, there is work to do. Please help, don't bash! RIP x
147,000 men and women from across 43 police forces in England and Wales work day and night, 24/7, to protect and serve. The vast majority are professional, decent and selfless. As news headlines rarely celebrate this truth, I thought I'd help them along. Support the blue!
If your motor is stopped by Police don't be irritated, be grateful. It's because of them that selfish drunk or drugged drivers fear getting behind the wheel or end up in court. When I was stopped, I cooperated and was soon on my way. I didn't enjoy it, but I respect the purpose.
Blue blues. In resigning from his beloved job in policing, a now ex-Officer wrote the following that few would argue with. Wishing him the best in his onward journey.
Wishing a speedy and complete recovery to the Kent Police officer who has been stabbed and left in a serious condition. Also hoping for justice. Police officers have a right to get home safely to their families.

A young Police officer has killed himself while awaiting trial for using baton on teenager, 16. A tragic end to a terrible case and another reminder of the mental health challenges facing officers. We should all care about this outcome. RIP

Policing talent will turn their backs on the profession if all they keep hearing about is how racist or misogynistic they are. The culture of policing is institutionally decent, courageous, selfless, and determined to lock up criminals and look after victims. Tell that truth!
It's a uniform, not a force field. If you know a police officer who may be going through some struggles at the moment - professionally or personally - hereโs a timely reminder to check in on them. Your support may just save their life. โ๏ธ Samaritans: 116 123.
These two fantastic Thames Valley Police officers entered a burning building and rescued an unconscious woman. They have been rightly nominated for their bravery. PCs Ingram and Eastman represent why we should all be proud of the men and women in Blue. THANK YOU, both!
This photo from last December shows a Police officer and paramedic rescuing a woman who fell into the freezing Nottingham Canal, lost consciousness and slipped under the water. It's a reminder that the VAST MAJORITY of UK officers protect and serve selflessly and professionally.
These are not actors! I fully support Stop and Search; nothing to hide, nothing to worry about. Yes, stops should be respectful, but don't complain about knife crime and then complain when police do their best to stop it. Provide intelligence & work with police for safer streets.
Challenge the biased thinking! Police officers are often the first on scene to administer life saving aid to victims of street violence and knife crime. Some are traumatised by what they see. If only the public could hear about the many lives they save. In trouble? Seek the blue!
PC Andrew Harper was killed protecting the public. Today, Harper's Law, named in his honour, comes into force. This new law introduces mandatory life sentences for those who unlawfully kill emergency workers in the line of duty.

I am frequently criticised for my support of the Police, "especially as a Black person", as someone recently told me. NO APOLOGY! Yes, there have been major errors, but my focus is on the future and helping to enable an inclusive Police service, for all. Be the change...Join! VS
McDonald's is a family place for quick meals, not quick stabbings. I applaud the courageous officers who reminded one menacing 'customer' of that fact. Everybody shouts when police get it wrong, but this one of many occasions when they got it right. Support the blue!
I've had to block some more Police haters. Fair criticism is healthy and welcome, but implacable hatred of the men and women who selflessly protect you & me will not be tolerated. Don't complain about prejudice and then perpetuate it yourself just because your target is 'blue'.
Two Hertfordshire Police officers who saved the life of a disabled man, badly burned in a flat fire, have been nominated for a National #PoliceBravery 2022 Award. Taking turns, their excellent CPR training made the difference. THANK YOU PCs Ashley Crowe and Matthew Henry-Randell.
Keith, you served with honour. Your friends and colleagues in PaDP and beyond will always remember you. We will stop and take time today to remember you and others from that day. Always in our hearts.
No, I wasn't searched or cuffed to take these pics. In fact, contrary to the media and worrying anti-police narrative, the vast majority of contacts with Black communities is positive. Room for improvement, for sure. Support the blue!
Policing is not a white profession. If you don't think it is diverse enough, join and be the change you want to see. Oh, while I'm at it, diversity is more than skin colour; beneath the skin is where the interesting stuff lies; the courage, respect...ability to catch criminals.
Chief Constable Simon Cole: My heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends and former colleagues. On average, two police officers end their lives each month and this should not be ignored. If you're feeling suicidal, please reach out and get support. Call the Samaritans on 116 123.
