🚨 BREAKING: “Police face lawsuit after former officer arrested over ‘thought crime’ tweet.”
As reported in The Telegraph, the FSU is backing one of our most disturbing cases yet.
Julian Foulkes, 71, a retired Special Constable, was arrested at home by six officers, detained for eight hours, and issued with a caution.
His ‘crime’? Replying to a social media post from an account with a Palestinian flag in its profile, which dismissed Suella Braverman’s description of the regular pro-Palestinian protests in London as “hate marches” and threatened legal action if labelled antisemitic.
In response, Julian warned that the antisemitism seen on the streets of the capital could escalate, referencing the mob in Dagestan that stormed an airport hunting for Jewish passengers.
That was enough for the Met’s Intelligence Command, a unit focused on extremism and terrorism, to flag Julian to Kent Police.
The house search was chilling. Police rifled through his belongings, seized his devices, and pointed to his books by
@DouglasKMurray and copies of The Spectator, calling them “very Brexity things” — as if that were prima facie evidence of thought crimes.
Kent Police has now admitted it was wrong. But there’s been no apology.
With our help, Julian is suing for wrongful arrest and unlawful detention — but he can’t do it alone.
