this past week i moved from Thailand to Croatia to be closer to the Solflare team and in a better time zone for work
this is now the 2nd time i have moved across the world and it is bittersweet
i love tropical climates and Thailand so much but i have a family in the Balkans and a billion Solflare users to onboard
something interesting is that over 60% of people live within a 20 mile radius from where they were born
i left my hometown of queens, ny when i was 21
when i moved to florida i learned how to be a man and when i moved to Thailand i learned how to be a better human
i learned to practice more patience, learned more about different cultures, developed more empathy, overcame great fears and truly grew into a better human being
moving to another country is scary man and a lot will go wrong no matter how much you plan
there are days when i miss my family deeply. there are days of sickness, sadness and tears.
this is part of your journey in life when you grow outside of your comfort zone (like learning to drive a motorbike at 35 foxing years old)
i post a lot of the positive aspects of traveling because most people would never strive for the view if they truly knew the climb and sacrifice involved
i promise you though that everything will be ok
you will find your way when you are lost, you will find purpose when feeling hopeless, you will find friendships that last a lifetime and the embrace of your family will be so much sweeter upon your return
if you have ever thought of traveling or moving to a new place - this is your sign!
the world is a book and if you stay in one place you only read 1 chapter
thanks for coming to my ted talk
