I made the "Plane Kit" that has somehow survived like 15 years. If you've ever flown a plane on Roblox with the weird UI at the top of the screen and a button that pops up the controls, that was from my plane kit. It sucks, but I still see it everywhere.

In this example, the client exploits by moving a wall out of the way. But the server owns the movement. The client has failed predictions due to the exploit, and rolls back.

Had a little fun changing up my kart system last night. I got rid of the whole physics kart & just use a simple box now. The visual kart model is pivoted over top of it, which also lets me add effects onto it, such as shaking, tilting, and flipping. Ends up being really easy.

I'm creating a system for live events (and other things). E.g. you can schedule "double xp" for every weekend of a couple months, or schedule something to happen every monday, or single-time events.

Using parallel Lua, I am able to generate a large baseplate size (2048x2048 studs) terrain super fast! This is nice, because I can reconfigure the noise attributes & regenerate the whole terrain quickly. Could easily be modified to be "infinite terrain" #RobloxDev

My algo here is simple, but not efficient (like 5ms for 10k cubes):
- Get rectangle min/max points
- Get screen point of each cube
- Compare screen point to min/max bounds

Trying to simulate wind fields. Here's a bunch of wind socks showing it.
I give the calculation the position and time, and it spits back a vector. I can adjust the amplitude & frequency that affects both the position and time inputs in order to change the wind characteristics.

Since using an observer pattern on Roblox, a lot of my code looks like this now. Setting up this logic without observers is an absolute pain and would be 10x as much code.
I'm still not 100% satisfied with the UX of it, but it's certainly helped simplify a lot of stuff.

Fun experiment last night! I took the car chassis I made & modified it in two ways:
1) Visual model is CFramed on; no side-effects on the physical chassis model
2) Use PID set steering to match a goal rotational velocity, which allows for natural drifting without any fancy code.

Two camera occlusion techniques:
1) Semi-transparent (trees / buildings)
2) Move the camera forward (terrain / walls)
The transparent technique is useful for things that are just simply in the way. Popping the camera forward is useful to not see through the world/terrain.
