28 years ago, Mobb Deep releases their 3rd LP, Hell On Earth, on Loud/RCA. this record was recorded during the height of the East Coast-West Coast shit, so it’s mega hard and dark. P went at Pac crazy on “Drop a Gem on 'Em”, but Pac passed right after the single dropped, and Mobb pulled it from radio airplay out of respect for Pac and his family. anyway, this record perfectly encapsulates mid-90’s NYC goon music. “The Infamous” is looked at as Mobb’s piece de resistance, but I’m lowkey not mad at you if you like this record better.
