This one hit home hard. Powerful story telling in the movie #Balagam on Amazon Prime. I relate:
1. I lost my dad last year and the rituals in the movie and the family and community support are real
2. My ancestral home is in the state of Telangana where the movie is based.
3. I have seen first hand the village life, trails and travail of the village culture that is portrayed so authentically in the movie.
It's in Telugu with English subtitles. You could tear up watching this, yet the movie will hell you realize at the end of it all we are human beings and family relationships can be emotional.
I learnt a lot about atma and the soul and the way you say goodbye to a loved one. I highly recommend watching this movie.

There's a story to these pistachios. Growing up in a middle-class Indian household pistachios was a rare luxury that we didn't have in our home.
