TLDR: Inscribed on sats from March 24, 2021 (a tribute to the day that the 1st artwork from The Wild Within was minted on Ethereum) this genesis inscription on Bitcoin is a dynamic 1-of-1 artwork. With Ancestor-Parent-Child provenance, it utilizes recursion to change from day to night based on the actual time zone of the real architectural ruin.

Thanks to the technical skills of
@veryordinally &
@raphjaph inscribing this one of a kind work on Bitcoin has been made possible.
This dynamic on-chain artwork shifts between Day and Night modes at 7 am and 7 pm CEST, synchronized with the Bitcoin clock, reflecting the real-life time zone of the Italian abandoned building's location.
Over the past months, I’ve delved into inscriptions, striving for uniqueness, conceptual purpose and ideas relevant to the technology.
This first inscription, created by combining photography of a real-life building that I explored in Italy, with added digital overgrowth, utilizes an Ancestor > Parent > Child structure and recursion for its time-based qualities and larger inscription size.
Conceptually, the relationship between abandoned buildings and digital artifacts inscribed on Bitcoin is intriguing to me. They’re both anthropological markings, as the scars on the walls of the structure, caused by the passage of time, are mirrored by the inscriptions of the artwork on the blockchain, permanently preserved.
Inscribing an artwork of a decaying building in an imaginatively overgrown state on such a secure and immutable chain is relevant to the core themes that
@alicewexell and I explore in The Wild Within. Our goal is to have our artwork outlive us, and this technology is another medium in which to secure that digital legacy.
Also, the opportunity to inscribe in this manner may not last indefinitely as fees become increasingly prohibitive.
Huge thank you to
@InscribAtlantis for helping to bring this artwork to life!
