Bitcoin assets (Runes/Ordinals) have some amazing cults brewing. Aside from Obvious ones like Puppets (world peace, btw) and Billy, you have a lot of really cool and unique smaller ones who show up every day: SkullX GOB Wiz of Ord Fomojis Alien Ordinals (AOA) Nookii Goosinals Boos Based Angels Taproot Alpha Debauchery and many more. I don't hold assets for all of these but I do see the cultish behavior and groups forming.

I think the biggest Runes catalyst since the halving just dropped and no one seemed to notice. From the lastest Ord update: "Add inscriptions and runes details to address API endpoint." That means Ordinals can not only be made aware of other Ordinals in a wallet, but also of Runes in a wallet. Imagine what this can unlock! Ordinals that evolve based on holding X number of Runes. Or holding X different runes. This can create new possibilities for on-chain games and art. Etc. etc. Everyone is waiting for OP_CAT and other features to enable degen-style trading on Runes but IMO this is far more of an impactful update. Forget about "better ways to trade" Runes and think about better ways to USE Runes. That is the ultimate catalyst for CREATING VALUE. This is honestly huge, imo...

The time has come to share a bit more about what I've been building PSYCHONØT is something I have been contemplating for a number of months but has only recently began to take shape. It's a brand, an ideology, and a consciousness that comes from many past experiences and areas of interest ranging from philosophy to art to music to crypto to psychedelics to writing and beyond. It's very much an experiment that will take shape and evolve over time. My intention is to take things slowly and allow them to unfold as the universe intends. We are building the foundation on Bitcoin because I believe the ideas we wish to communicate are important to humanity and should have the best chance of surviving as far into the future as possible. Bitcoin also ideologically aligns with the ethos of the brand. In the posts/slides below you can get a better idea for what this brand is all about and what we are trying to accomplish. In the future, we will have Ordinals collections, IRL goods, and content that communicates our ideas. We have some pretty exciting things in store. Most importantly, I am excited to bring a fresh, creative voice and approach to our ecosystem. 1/ As many influencers overhype popular Rune tickers, I’ve been searching for projects flying under the radar that are primed for success. One of my favorites is called Game of Blocks (GOB) @gob_btc. Here's why I believe GOB stands out in the crowded crypto space. 🚀🧵👇

Ordinals communities are just built different. I started trading shitcoins in 2017 and I’ve owned hundreds of tokens since. I’ve talked to more founders and made more friends in 6 months of Ordinals than I did in 6 years of shitcoin trading. Shitcoin communities were nearly ALL price talk and utility speculations. Even NFT communities skewed this way. Ordinals is just a different vibe. The community is often the product and utility. All that matters is the quality of the community, the art, and the history/lore. The best founders see this. At this point, 99% of my digital assets are in the Bitcoin ecosystem and I have no regrets. Finding Ordinals 6 months ago was the best thing that’s happened to me on my crypto journey. (Better late than never!)

PSA: SLOW DOWN! A very dumb mistake just cost me $15k. After fighting with a bot to list an O.P.I.U.M on the floor to take some profits, I mistakenly typed in .0215 instead of .215 on my 10th listing revision and hit list without thinking. I realized what I had done 3 seconds after listing, but it was too late. A bot scooped it instantly and before I could cancel a snipe war ensued. I didn't have enough BTC in my wallet to buy it back. GG. In 7 years of crypto I have never been drained or hacked. I've made many bad trades, but losing $15k like this definitely sucks and is embarrassing. Sharing as a lesson and reminder of the many ways we can take Ls in this space. Slow down. Onward.

Of all the top Ordinals collections, Puppets seems like the only one where the culture is truly owned and curated by the community. Like at the point @lepuppeteerfou could not even control the direction if he wanted. Yes, he contributes, but alongside many others. Say what you want about the price action, the Ordinals market, the art, the whatever - this is still not a common thing in Ordinals and perhaps even NFTs as a whole. It’s the anti-yuga approach to value creation and community. Decentralized culture. Props.

Did a bit of shopping. Here's what I scooped in the past week: Genesis GOB - Been wanting one of these for months. Historic project that will be remembered for many years to come. Billion Dollar Cat $BDC Runes - You know it's going to a Billion, right? Still sitting on a chunk of Bitcoin from this transition so will keep my eye out for more opportunities.

I am not an Ordinals OG. While I’ve been in crypto since 2017, I didn’t get into this ecosystem until I bought $PUPS BRC-20 in March (and a puppet shortly after). Since then, I’ve become an Ordinals/Runes maxi and nearly all my bags are in the BTC eco. Most of my content is Ordinals/Runes focused and I’m building my own project on Ordinals. All my crypto friends are now BTC eco people as are all of the communities I’m in. While I didn’t experience the “early days” like the OGs, I consider myself to be very knowledgeable on this ecosystem and feel very confident my own strategy for collecting/trading/etc. Point is, you are NEVER too late to become part of this ecosystem. Just gotta spend the time and have enough interest.

Thoughts On Early Ordinals🧵 1/ It still appear to me that one of the most overlooked opportunities in Ordinals is in early inscriptions. I've spent many hours looking at this part of the market and here are some observations for those interested in this part of the ecosystem.

I’m sorry, but Runes and Ordinals are not going anywhere. No amount of FUD and no price dip is gonna shake me out of my bags or my conviction in this space. I’m playing on a different time horizon. I believe in the idea of progress and that everything will continue to evolve and improve and that there is no better place to be than on the mother chain.

This weekend I inscribed over 170 files with @TheWizardsOfOrd Batch Inscribe tool for FREE because I hold 5 wizards. I saved .012 BTC in fees this weekend alone, which covers the cost of one wizard. I’m just getting started. No one is bullish enough on Wiz Of Ord.

UPDATE: I sold my RSIC into a bid at 3.4 sats. (It’s now sitting at 3.29). With the proceeds I bought the following plays (sats at time of buy vs now). 1/3 went into Gizmo and about 1/4 went into Memento More and Cypher. And I paid zero fees for any of these actions as a Wiz holder.

Wait until Ordinals has its Beeple moment… The recognition of an artist creating impactful and distinguished 1/1 works. It will change the entire narrative of our ecosystem. It will blindside degens and collectors alike. Not if, but when.

Trashing the Runes plays you missed is negative aura. I learned this the hard way when when I first faded Billion Dollar Cat b/c I was married to my Cats In The Sats bags. Everything is a Cabal scam play until it's not. Don't get me wrong, you don't have to buy into every coin or meta. I own no Gizmo, Pooka, Koda, etc because I felt I missed them and I don't like chasing. I'm fine staying in my conviction bags. But I also have confidence in my bags and I don't need to go on the TL and try and hate on specific projects. I will share my opinions about my overall strategy, but I always try and be clear about it being my personal preference and not THE "RIGHT" PLAY. There are no universal Truths in life or in crypto. And you can't fight the universe. Things will play out just as they should no matter how much you yell about it. Best to save your energy for more productive uses.

Of all the possible metas on Ordinals, I think the one that will ultimately rule them all is the provenance meta, with a multiplier for scarcity. Trying to position myself now to find opportunities in collections and artists that carry this meta in some way (early inscriptions, early works from the best artists, disruptive kinds of art, new art styles, early communities w distinct cultures, etc). Many collections of these types are less liquid so you have to be comfortable holding longer. They are not short term flips. But I think their upside will trump the flips by many orders of magnitude.

The @PoorTraitsArt launch gave me hope for the Ordinals art market and the creativity & innovation we are capable of. It's refreshing to see a collection of this caliber that took quite a bit of actual human effort & creativity to produce. It's not copy-pasta. A great collection like this builds real momentum on the TL b/c the people talking about it are not paid to shill it. They talk about it because they are genuinely impressed by what they got for the price they paid. ART > CHARTS This model gives me hope for the space and I think has a much longer-term future than the pure manipulated gambling of the vast majority of memecoins.

I’m not bullish on Ordinals. I’m bullish on digital art. But the best digital art should be secured and backed by the strongest and most decentralized blockchain. And the rights to the best digital art should be fully on-chain and not be part of some abstracted rent-scheme that must be paid to maintain the art. This is why we need Ordinals as a protocol. It should attract the best and most valuable l digital art, which will attract the most affluent collectors. But being an Ordinal alone isn’t enough. It has to be great art first.

Sometimes making art on Bitcoin feels like a loose/loose. Most capital in our ecosystem does not appreciate low-supply, unique art. Most real art collectors on other chains don’t appreciate Bitcoin as an art ecosystem. These in turn feed off each other. Art creators looking to sell work need to adapt their approach attract capital, or double down and stay patient and make great work in spite of the market. And yet, having said all this, Bitcoin still best aligns with the values I prioritize as an artist and creator. So we press on…

Woke up feeling kinda bored by the space. Just because there is new stuff popping up every day doesn’t make it fun or interesting. It just makes it repetitive. I want to see new stuff THAT HITS DIFFERENT. Our problem is a low barrier to entry. It’s about as low as any “industry” in the world. The cost to launch a new coin is effectively zero (in time and money). Ordinals have a bit more cost, but with AI and other tools they can still be very cheap to produce. The best and most impactful projects are the ones that took thought, care, and creativity to develop (aka time & energy). They will be far more scarce. But they are the projects that will make this space stay interesting and attract new people. This is the kind of work I want to collect and create.

When we try and attract people to Ordinals based on financial speculation, most leave when the numbers go down. Let’s attract people because we have great art, great culture, and great ideas. This will bring people who stay, which will be more financially rewarding for us all in the long run anyway.

⚡️Great teams make great memes. ⚡️ $Billy is showing us that a great memecoin requires more than a good ticker/name and a funny image. The team (or person?) behind Billy is executing incredibly well on many fronts. Almost like a growth company. Take their meme maker. While many memecoins have some form of meme-maker on their website, Billy took this a step further to partner with ordinal communities and create custom Billy glasses to match their PFPs. This approach builds "meme affinity" with people who are passionate about their PFP/communities and allows them to authentically rep Billy. A clever strategy and use of design resources that is just one of many making Billy stand out in my eyes. Frankly I have not seen execution like this on any other meme (not just Runes, but across the board.) I think we are still early on this one, folks. (And yes, I faded Billy early at $2m, $4m, $15m and $20m market cap as I didn't look closely enough at what they were doing. I came around and continue to buy. And yes, I still hold $CATS too. Only other cat coin that matters to me.)

No matter now much its forced down my throat, I'm not here for takes on Diddy, politics, the Middle East, pronouns, Elon, the economy, and whatever other for-profit dopamine extractions are out there. I'm here to learn and contribute ideas related to Bitcoin, Ordinals/Runes, art, community, building, and bettering humanity. That's it. Fuck the algorithm.

Now experiencing my first public mint and seeing how hard it is to get ppl to mint art, I feel even better about the art (and artists) I have been able to support. None of us have endless sats, but mine are going towards art. I hope others join me! 🫡

Bold prediction: The next wave of capital will not be degens, or even VCs. It will be collectors. Degens are mostly gamblers, very few make money and most lose bad. There are only a certain number of degens in retail and only a small number of them have come out ahead. The ones who lose don’t come back often (how many of your normie friends who bought NFTs and Shitcoins last cycle came back?) The primary vehicle bringing new attention to our ecosystem is the Bitcoin ETF. Ask yourself, who is buying ETFs? Answer: not degens. This new wave of attention on Bitcoin is going to build Bitcoin’s brand with a new audience. When Bitcoin eventually breaks ATH, the narrative will take hold with this new audience and upward momentum will accelerate (as it always does). When this happens, new Bitcoin ETF holders will look to expand their crypto exposure down the risk curve into other crypto assets. Which ecosystem do you think they are buying first? Correct. Bitcoin. And what kind of assets within Bitcoin best align with the mentality of this new type of holder? It’s unlikely to be memecoins and ponzi coins and the likes. This new “investor” class is far more likely to want to own, collectibles, historical assets, and great art or “brands”. This is the cycle I hope to front run, not the max degen cycle. Don’t think those ppl are the next ones back in size. Maybe another midcurve take. NFA. Just sharing some of my thesis out loud for you to ponder.

One takeaway from Nashville: Ordinals communities are far more developed than Runes communities. $Billy was the only visible Rune presence while Ordinals communities sponsored events, had many meetups, gave swag , etc. There were lots of Runes holders present, but you just didn’t FEEL it like you did Ordinals. I think the art side plays out better than coin side IRL.

The reality: the Ordinals market is in rough shape at the moment. Many people gambled expendable cash into speculative flips on Ordinals and Runes and were not prepared for a dip like this. Now there are some great projects out there (especially on the art side) struggling to mint/sell. We can’t change reality. And we can’t predict the future. All we can control is the type of work we contribute to this ecosystem and the projects those with liquidity choose to support/collect. Will there be a shift from short-term flipping to collecting long term? Probably over a longer time horizon. As a collector, I’ve already shifted my mentality. I sold almost all my Runes over the past month (down bad on most) and am using that remaining liquidity to support the art ecosystem. I believe art is the best long-term use case for Ordinals. As a creator I’m putting all my energy into building something unique that contributes to not only this ecosystem but the world of art, and ultimately, humanity. My expectations are adjusted and the only thing I can control is what I contribute. It’s a long road ahead. But I’m locked in and committed. Are you?

This week I scooped a @fomojis Genesis. It’s never easy to pull the trigger on an expensive JPEG, especially when market conditions are down. But a number of factors pushed me over the line: 1. Since I first bought Fomoji’s 2.0 about 2 months ago, Fomojis has been one of the most active and welcoming communities I’m in. 2. It seems like every chad in this space is in Fomojis (even if just lurking). 3. This is one of the oldest Ordinal communities (sub 100k) and the supply is only 100 (scarcity is a primary driver of value) 4. This was the first BTC/PFP collection designed by @SwayzeDigital who has since designed art for other project like Pizza Ninjas. (I think artist metas will have their day). 5. Current price was at an 8-month low so the timing /opportunity seemed right. 6. Meeting @sanjfomojis and @itsdonnyok pushed me over the edge. Always great to know that there are good humans behind the keyboard! If you’re not in Fomojis yet, consider scooping a 2.0 on the dip if you have liquidity!

(Long tweet warning) I've been thinking about sharing a bit more about my background. Our personal/professional experiences shape how we think and influence our approach to this space. Unlike many others, I am not a trader. I can't read a chart, and I don't try to predict near-term price action (sometimes do, but it rarely ends well). Until February, I spent the previous 12 years building a company from my garage to a peak of 125 employees, $70 million in annual revenue, and over $300 million in lifetime sales. It was a consumer brand in an “old school” category that innovated by using content, social media, performance marketing, influencers, and tech. We were the meme-lords of the category and one of the fastest-growing brands in our space for many years. As an outdoors company, COVID was initially great for us. But by '22 the impact on our supply chain, the end of stimulus, changing consumer behaviors, rising interest rates, Apple privacy changes, and other factors caught up with us (and many other companies like us). We spent two years trying to survive, raising money, and dealing with years of excess inventory. We had three layoffs and reduced our team to 35 people. But our entire category was in shambles (and still is), and we eventually wound down the business and sold off the assets to pay the bank. It was very painful, but I learned a lot and realized I was long overdue to move on. I stepped away in February to take a sabbatical, and my attention was slowly sucked back into crypto (for the fourth time since 2017). I eventually found my way back into the BTC ecosystem (after dabbling Solana and Ethereum) and have been fascinated by its evolution. This is where I'm putting most of my attention. Before starting my last company, I had another company in the lead-generation/tech space that I bootstrapped and sold (we were only four people, so it wasn't massive). Before that, I was an affiliate marketer. I started my career as a creative/writer at one of the larger digital agencies in the country and helped their clients think about digital experiences and how to use a budding new thing called “social media” to engage with customers and build brands. I've loved the digital ecosystem since I was a kid in AOL chat rooms, and I've been fascinated by the intersection of creative and performance-driven approaches my whole professional life. The amazing thing about the past few months is that I've been able to get back in the trenches and feel like I am creating again. Whether it was helping GOB with their website, doing some content for Cats In The Sats, writing articles on X, or growing my following—I love making things that others engage with. As my last company grew, I did less and less of it, as I mostly had to manage and deal with people all day (didn't love it). My views on the space are mostly shaped by my background in brand building, consumer behavior, content marketing, growth marketing, etc. You will see a lot of this thinking come through in my tweets, articles, and portfolio choices. I try to think long term about what will still be in consumers minds and what projects may stand out in a crowded marketplace.

I can’t stop thinking about how much potential @gob_btc has. The $GOB token is slowly rising off the floor and the team has yet to make any big announcements of where the game is going to take us. But even the hints are juicy. Few.

Just collected Smurf Boo by Bitcoin Boos (101 supply). This is my first-ever sub-10k inscription (#7,287). Bitcoin Boos is one of the first Ordinals PFPs/communities and was founded by one of the dopest leaders in the space (@KingBootoshi). (At 0.1 BTC, this might be one of my biggest steals yet for a native BTC collection (not ETH port) with heavy lore and provenance behind it. Current floor is still quite cheap imo.) There are many deals to be had for patient collectors in this market if you are paying close enough attention. (not financial advice yadda yadda).

After I posted these buys and a few of the floors started to run I started to get the feeling that many blue chip ordinals were starting to bottom out. I was initially trying to get a @LiquidiumFi loan on a QC to buy my first OMB, but the floor was rising fast and the lender was taking too long to accept so I canceled the loan and switched gears. I had a chunk of fiat I left in Coinbase with limit orders in case of another BTC leg down. But as I thought about what might be the best opportunity to stack sats, I came to the conclusion that the upside on Ordinals seemed greater than scooping the on Bitcoin on another leg down. So I pulled my limit orders and made an even bigger move into Ordinals. I've been saying for quite some time that I think O.P.I.U.M. might be the most mispriced Ordinal asset. This was especially true when O.P.I.U.M floor was within 20% of Puppet floor and was going down as Puppet floor was rising. I decided to go for it and added 3 more (tried to add 4 but 1 was sniped). (4 Opium were still cheaper than the first one I bought a few months back) I also added my first @pizzaninjas as I've been wanting to get one since Nashville. I added two more @fomojis as well since they had not pumped and I think it's such an obvious sleeper play having been in the community for almost 2 months I used my remaining liquidity to sweep $GOB floor and add some $PUPS. Time will tell if this was a bad idea. Was def not a small move and it won't feel great if If BTC sees another leg down and Ordinals don't rebound. But the r/r just seemed to make sense to me (esp since I can be patient and have no leverage). Sry for the long post, just sharing my moves and thinking out loud for those who care!
